Should we bring him back?

We need a 2nd keeper. Surely he cant have gone downhill all that much.

Will be No. 1 at Hull following McGregor's departure.

Not for me stays on his line too much and this awareness in the air was suspect.

This lad Paul Woolston who we have on trial may be a better, cheaper
option, played for England at U17/18 and part of the Newcastle first team squad .

No way. His distribution is awful and that’s important for us.

Can’t believe the fuss about him before. I’d take Etheridge over him no question at all.

Plus he doesn’t score enough goals

Etheridge got so much better as the season went on. I'd say he was the best keeper in the league at the end of the season.

What a gem we found in Etheridge. I would opt for some promising younger players to learn with/from him.

Be a great back up

He's a great shot stopper but that's goalkeeping basics. He's shit at everything else.

Why does Marshy have to be shit all of a sudden? We wouldn't have gotten a sniff of promotion without him. Former player of the season. Loyal player. I'm not saying we should try and sign him, but why the need to criticise? He's a club legend for me.

Agree with this and he was excellent in our PL season.

However, I also agree with the general consensus that we shouldn't get him back, aside from which can't see him coming to be a back up keeper.

He stood out in our premier league season because he was a great shot stopper. One huge reason for that was the vast number of shots against us. Does he command the box as well as Etheridge? No where near as good.
Etheridge for me every time.

We would have ended up with less premiership points than Derby if it wasn’t for Marshall that season.
Wouldn’t re sign him now, but come on guys, a bit of respect.
