I think days like these do bring joy to a lot of folk , it may not fit everyone's idea of joy but we must respect that it does for others ,as good socialist we should embrace that joy ,as it socially organises one and brings together communities as a whole.

talking of the royals didn't see 1 single street party today in the capital which i thought was a bit odd

is royalty a thing of the past these days ? if i remember as a kid in 1977 we celebrated the coronation didn't we and street partys were eevrywhere

was expecting those union jack bunting tapes to be plastered everywhere

77 was the Silver Jubilee. There were street parties everywhere. Same in 81 when chas and dave got hitched.

I suspect the lack of street parties is partly to do with indifference and partly to do with less social interaction in communities.

fair enough barry knew 1977 was a big event in the royal calendar . still got photos of that day somewhere . god save the queen by the sex pistols was that year too how could i forget =lol
