Never done one.
Anyone have any suggestions which is the best one in Cardiff that would be suitable for an 8 year old?

The only ones I have done wouldn't really be suitable for an 8 year old. They can be frustrating and some of the puzzles would be beyond most kids. My mate ran one in Edinburgh for a few years and I don't think he let kids do it on their own.

I've done the ones off St Mary Street

They are not suitable for an 8 year old - way too complex

I did one with my sons 2 x 16 year olds and a 20 year old - it was a job to stop them fighting with each other whilst their mother did everything and I wished I was in the pub

I’m meant to be going to one of those for a party, but I’m trying to get out of it.

That's the idea isn't it?

I’ve only ever done one once but I think they can amend the difficulty because there’s always someone watching you and giving clues if you’re stuck.

Normally they give you one clue and different rooms are different difficulties.

We went to the one on Newport Road. Great fun and you do get help if you're stuck, but I'd agree an 8 year old wouldn't get much out if it. They'd probably have fun but they wouldn't be able to solve the problems or very few anyway.

Used to love the one in Swansea.
Many a great night off your box in there

I would be on tender pins the whole time I was in there. Would probably end up being a damp squid.

I've tried that VR gaming place in town, that was lots of fun.
It was an absolute shambles but the kid really enjoyed himself
