Which is best way in the car?

Been around North wales and want to avoid the windy roads that the satnav keeps taking us on. Nice and straight with minimal stops!

A49 route through Shrewsbury and Hereford I would recommend.

A49 route through Shrewsbury and Hereford I would recommend.

I came down from Birkenhead yesterday, I usually use A49 Hereford but the road works in Hereford are bad with the bypass works so I recommend follow your sat nav like I did yesterday, I know it was sunday but clear roads all the way through North Wales.

I do this journey regularly and going via the m50 or over the bridge and m5 is usually quicker. Hereford can be a nightmare.

I drive the route regularly, I always go A483 - Welshpool - Newtown (New by pass cuts a good 20-30 mins off now) - Llandrindod Wells - A470.
