Seriously, this is so lame. A few weeks ago, Priti Patel couldn't even read a number properly. Yesterday Michael Gove lied that he'd driven to test his eyesight for no other reason than because two days ago Dominic Cummings said he did (would you jump off a cliff if Dominic did?).

I am absolutely no fan of Corbyn and the others; in fact I think the country would be in a far better state than it is had they not been in charge of the Labour party even if they weren't in power. That's not true either.

The point is that we don't know how much worse we could be off with others in charge - but we know exactly how much shit we're in right now with the Govt. that we have.

That's the important thing we need to focus on. We need to hold the people in charge accountable for the job that they're doing now and not make up false narratives that fit one's argument.

It's about time the question about what do you think the UK Government has done well in this crisis got another airing. Last time I answered it a few weeks ago, I said getting the Nightingale hospitals up and running so quickly and the furlough scheme - I can't think of anything else to add to the small list at the moment.

Remember that app that was being trialled in the Isle of Wight? I read somewhere today that the locals are saying that its been lost - the track and trace app which was something else that was being hailed as a "game changer" at the beginning of the month has been lost - you have to laugh because you'd cry otherwise.

With South Wales quite possibly being the UK's current hotspot, Welsh Labour has got nothing to be complacent about either - I'm honestly beginning to think the people of the UK would do a better job of tackling Covid 19 if they ignored the politicians and just got on with it themselves.

To be honest, I'm not remotely interested in speculating on how Messrs Corbyn and McDonald and Dianne Abbott would have done, they're all backbenchers now I believe and so what's the point? We have a Government that has overseen a situation where, no matter what stats you look at, the UK compares poorly with the rest of the world and now they've managed to create a situation whereby they are struggling to keep the country on board with their guidelines with many believing they are putting party and personal matters above people's wellbeing.

Dealing with this pandemic is not a right/left or Tory/Labour issue - it's about competence or lack of. Johnson (under Cummings' advice) has surrounded himself with a cabinet containing people like Hancock, Patel, Williamson, Rabb etc - all of whom would have been out of their depth as Parish councillors 20 years ago.
If we had May, Cameron, Brown, Blair, Major or even Thatcher as PM now, I daresay some mistakes would have been made but I'm sure we would have avoided the shameful, shambolic incompetence that currently embarrasses and endangers us.

Diane Abbott - How the hell did such a single cellular organism get into politics ?

I don't think that Boris and Co. have covered themselves in glory but having the 3 stooges at the helm would have been unthinkable.

I'm not particularly a fan of Diane Abbott, but the criticism she gets is ridiculous.

Daughter of immigrant parents who were a nurse and a welder, she managed to get into Cambridge and got a degree in History. If she had achieved nothing else in her life that would still have been very impressive given her background and the discrimination she must have received at the time.
Later she became Britain's first and longest serving black MP, and has been re-elected at 9 general elections, which I think is one more than Nigel Farage has tried and failed to become an MP at.

She had enough sense (and backbone, moral compass) to vote against the Iraq war when many others went placidly along with it.

But she once stumbled over a maths question when in a live radio interview, so people think she is stupid and worthless.

I strongly suspect that she has achieved a lot more in the face of a lot more adversity than you have. So if she is a "single celular organism" then what does that make you?

I've changed my mind, I am now definitely a fan of Diane Abbott

Jacinda Ardern seems to have done alright. Different country admittedly.

Do you think Starmer could’ve done better than cuntwaffle (Boris)?

I think he is no pandemic expert , neither is any other politician, and with great respect were the medical experts and scientists , it's an unknown matter for everyone, next time it won't be as we would have learned so much from this pandemic.

This isn't the world's first pandemic. South Korea have done so well because they've been through it before and they knew they needed to act quickly.

To say it's an unknown matter for everyone is absolute rubbish. The UK had the best pandemic response in the world. Asian countries followed it with success. The current UK government did not. This failure is on them. Don't absolve them by pretending that everyone was taken by surprise.

Tell that to the dead , all those stupid advisors , medics ,scientists in the world , what do they know, they should step down and let ordinary folk step up and take the reins

What on earth are you talking about?

When you're ill, do you go to a doctor or 'ordinary folk'?

I'm so frustrated tonight that no-one seems interested in the 4000 scatalogical posts a year I churn out that I thought I would add some gibberish to a post that died a fortnight ago. Wibble
