Sums Neymar up in 30 seconds. Great skill and technique but holding his face like he'd been hit after losing possession, total s@*thouse
An incredibly talented player who's antics let him down

And yet he had one game where he acted like a proper footballer and the press where lauding his maturity!
Terrible role model, along with Mbappé and I make sure my lads see the difference between these numpties and Bale or Ronaldo!
What he did there was totally pointless :hehe:

Great skill but unlike Messi for instance not an easy player to like.
I used to love the Brazilian football team with a passion but they have become more cynical in the last 20 years or so. Rivaldo for instance, who I thought was a lovely player to watch held his face and went down even though a Turkish player kicked a ball at his thigh in the 2002 World Cup, resulting in the Turk being sent off.
Neymar it seems is more than happy to follow in Rivaldo's less than glorious footsteps.

Do you mean Christian Ronaldo. He is one of the biggest cheating twat on a football pitch.
In a televised match when he was playing for Man U he was tackled and fell down holding his face, then stopped and looked up to see if the ref was watching. When he saw that he wasn't he started to roll around and moan again until the ref saw and he got a free kick.
10 minutes later in the same game he had a free kick given against him and as the opposition were about to kick he ran up and remonstrated so the ref intervened. As the ref walked away Ronaldo kicked the free kick taker in the back of his leg, just out of malice.

Ronaldo left Man Utd 11 years ago, if you're having to bring up examples from then he's probably not that bad. And no matter what you think of him no one can deny he's an excellent example of how to wring every single ounce out of your talent

Willie Boland used to get stuck in but I don't remember him falling about like a baby
Phil stant was a hard man but would dive

The reason I have to bring up examples from 11 years ago is because I haven't watched him much since, its that simple! He is probably still doing the same kind of thing. If it works why stop?
A cheat is a cheat is a cheat, and he is no role model!

I think again that is spot on
Linekar was a role model on the pitch
Pele was for me the ultimate . The way he played . His sportsmanship .
Divers ? Got no time for them , they are cheats

Yeah I hate it, especiallly those rolling around in apparent agony until the referee doesn't something then it is straight back up and on with the game. I'd fine my players for that kind of behaviour.
Someone like Jamie Vardy is absolutely world class at putting himself inbetween the ball and the defender in the penalty area and making sure that there is contact and then going down for a penalty. 90% of the time the contact isn't enough to make someone fall over though, so that is also cheating to me.

Absolutely
Gamesmanship, pretending to be injured to get another player sent off , its all a blight on the game .
Stant was a great player for us but he would fall over like he had been shot
That doesn't sit well with me
Peter Thorne , great forward , real pro , no diving around from him

this penalty from the leicester game is a good example.
The man city defender touched the player in the box, the player went down - probably every referee gives that as a penalty these days. VAR looked at it and also decided it was a penalty.
It's total bollocks though, the touch was barely enough to notice, certainly not enough to put soneone onto the floor - if that kind of contact could make you fall over then the london underground would basically be a sea of people falling over constantly.
Also the player gets touched on their shoulder, and somehow this caused both of their feet to be lifted off the grass at the same time and and crossed over - anyone doing this while running is going to fall over, whether someone has touched their shoulder or not.
Ridiculous.

Just wait until strikers realise they have a 3% of scoring with a shot but a 95% chance of getting a pelanty if they boot it at a defenders arm.

Alan Lee was the same
Big bloke , fell over like he had been shot
What are the commentators doing even analysing that ?

Two things. If someone is running at pace, the slightest touch can knock them over. Don't get that too often in the underground. An old tactic in rugby is the ankle tap if a player is away.
I also think that there is too much nowadays in favour of defenders and goalkeepers are overprotected. If a striker wants to be cute to get an advantage, then it redresses some of that imbalance.

But suppose one of our players did it in the last seconds of a playoff final with the scores tied. Do you stand up praying for the penalty to go in or sit down and demand it be missed?
