All I know is that we cannot afford to lose many more as we are being drawn into a relegation scrap.
I expect Williams and Wilson to start and us play with 5 at the back. Could be very wrong though!

01-05 mins Bacuna takes position on the edge of the half way line but is yet to touch the ball - he scowls in MM direction
06 Mins Diedhiou finds himself on the right side of Nelson who had lost his positioning to glance the Wurzels 1 up
32 Mins The ball is played though Flints legs by Wells who powers though to score with a low drive as Flint clambers to try to untie his legs
33-40 mins Cardiff press with at least 4 looped long throws by Vaulks into the Wurzel penalty area - All 4 are headed clear by the first defender as Kief looks on bemused
40 mins the busy Johnny Williams continues to hustle and bustle without getting near the ball
40-45 mins Sean Morrison looks to be Cardiff's best hope as he is 'strangely' being left alone to play 40 yard diagonal balls in the direction of Moore. None reach their target. Kief looks on bemused.
45+ minutes Bacuna has not touched the ball and scowls at MM
HT 2-0
With Micks words ringing in their ears Cardiff up the tempo
45-50 mins Ralls plays 2 lovely through balls into the corridor of space by the corner flags with Moore only 30 yards away. kief looks on bemused as vaulks tries to run in the support from his own penalty box
55-60 mins Vaulks tries another 3 looped long throws which as somehow cleared by the first defender every fecking time
61 mins Substitution as a hobbling Johnny Williams makes way for Ojo. Mick reveals after the game its an ankle injury that'll mean Johnny will miss the next few games and he's devastated for the lad as he's made a great impact in training.
70 mins Disaster for City as from a Wurzel corner swung in by Nagy, Flint jumps to power it clear but defying the laws of physics it somehow ricochets off his head into the other end of the goal. nobody could have seen that coming from the 6 foot five first name on the sheet and City find themselves 3 down
79 mins Bacuna is now on the right touchline but has still not touched the ball
80 mins Mick rings the changes and Wilson is brought on for Ng as Cty go to a back 4
83 mins The pressure from city pays off as a Wilson corner is swung in. Flint somehow falls over his own legs falls on top of Kief and the ball hits Morrisons arse and goes in. The delight of the city players is curtailed however as Big Kief fails to get up as Flint by breaking the laws of physics has somehow managed to land on the big City strikers knee. Disaster as a stretcher is brought on and it looks like its the end of the season for Moore
85 mins Ciaron Brown comes on for Big Kief as MM throws Flint up front and City look comfortable with 4 centre halves on the pitch
94 mins Bacuna receives the ball for the first time 40 yards from goal turns and hits a menacing shot that just goes the wrong side of the corner flag
Full Time 3-1

Mick is distraught for Johnny and Big Kieffer but despite the adversity says the team is improving each week. Wilson looked lively in his 10 mins and Flint put in a huge performance also that lad Brown looks like he can throw the ball so we'll be able to give Will a rest in that department. He comments that he's seen Aden play a few times at centre forward and its an option he'll seriously consider for the rest of the season

Bristol City have got a few injury problems!

https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bristol-city-injury-blow-chris-4971355

It won't make any difference. An opposing team struggling to get a side together, rookie 'keeper forced into action etc.... we are incapable of capitalising.

To be fair our squad looks crap now. I know Williams, Tomlin, Vassell are out injured. And Bennett, Bamba, Day, Holiett out of contract this summer. And we'll probably have to offload the high earners which will be Morrison, Pack, Ralls, Smithies and Bacuna. The bench looks so weak.

We may as well just have 6 new centre backs next season and pump balls up to Moore! If he isn't sold too?

Having said that we'll probably win today, after going 1-0 down off course.

For a change we looked solid defensively, they barely had a worthwhile shot.

Efficient with our chances and saw the game out comfortably.

Closed down well.

A bit more composure at times and we could have got another, we are so guilty of just clearing the ball at times or punting it away first time when there is no need. In defence I don't mind it necessarily but in midfield when there is space its annoying.

Good win, we just needed to get a win again so well done.

surge
06-02-21, 18:08
Positives:

- Now picked up points in three games on the bounce and picked up maximum points today
- Another assist for both Wilson and Ojo. Both now on 6 assists and pushing up towards top of that table with 8 sitting at top of the tree (BBC stats)
- Moore with another goal. Only three players in the league have scored more than him so far and all of those are from top eight clubs (BBC again)
- A valuable clean sheet
- We're creeping up the table and MM has indicated that the higher we go, the more confidence we're playing with the more likely we're going to see the kids get a chance. The under 18's scored 5 today to follow the 4 the under 23's scored earlier this week.

Negatives:

- Concerns about what happened to Smithies
- Several teams behind us picked up good points as well: QPR, Coventry, Rotherham, Forest. It does seem that Wycombe and Birmingham are falling away though.

Other:

- We love playing midtable sides this year. If the league was just Boro in 7th down to Forest in 18th I'm pretty sure we'd top the pile. Maybe a challenge for Eric to confirm/correct this?

It is remarkable. He's 28 but he's quite young in football terms as he wasn't a pro until he was 21. His loan spell at Rotherham got him off and running, bit of a wobble at a poor Barnsley team and then he's just exploded. I think he's got 20 in his last 46 Championship games!
