It would normally be an overnight programme but, as the count was delayed, they didnt have much option other than to run the results programme through the day.

That's a very poor reason, the rest of the country has normal tv. It's not that I watch BBC in the late evening, but I don't believe it's what viewers want to see.

On reflection maybe they could have dipped in an out and kept some regular programmes. BBC Scotland are doing that.
