Thought we might sneak something here, until I found Mowatt was fit. He's bound to score.
3-1 WBA
2-1 win, Isaak Davies masterclass, the public humiliation was all a clever ploy by Morison

It was probably needed, a kick up the bottom , the lad was probably instructed to perform in a certain way and didn't.
He knows this lad well and has played a big part in his development .
City one nil win .

You can dress it up in whatever way you want, but I see it has a really poor management style of practice, Morison needs to get something today even if it’s getting the team selection right.
Vaulks, Pack and Ralls as a midfield trio
Time for total football!
I’m hoping Harris goes on to have a stormer after me saying this but I find him massively underwhelming.

As expected really, after Moore getting injured v Bournemouth.

WBA are no great shakes on that first half performance. Just need to keep our nerve and gain confidence...maybe a clean sheet??
Think Harris is doing quite well - shade offisde twice. Vaulks pretty anonymlous. No outstanding performance.
Corner aside Ralls' passing has been sloppy today

Team working hard. That's all we can ask at this stage. WBA looking like they did v Derby. Very nervous and out of sorts. As long as we keep battling we can win this one.

Collins deserves more credit IMHO as the cross was actually behind him.

Definitely offside, bugger!

Good point in the end, some good opportunities when they were with 10 though and we just lack belief and application to do better with them.

I’m happy with a point.
Haven’t seen any replays but their goal looked office and they could have had a pen at the end.
They cut us open quite easily a few times, the mobility of our CBs and Pack is a big issue, winning the first ball is fine but we lost a number of second balls.
Good point that. Their goal was offside but they also should have had a penalty at the end. We are lucky that West Brom didn’t get out of second gear today.

He feckin dived!!! Hope the WBA manager gets a long touchline ban what a complete pr!ck.
I suppose thats Morrison back with Flint banned.
Should have been a penalty but their goal was offside anyway; ref didn't perform well.
We were so much after the change with Colwill and Vaulks but of course the red card helped us. Davies was promising when he came on and for me he should start before Harris.
They just showed their goal again from a few angles. Unbelievable. A shocking decision. At least two yards offside.
We don't half get some dross officiating our games.
With that shower today we should all be thankful of a point.
Still some ropey defending but overall happy with a point.

On the Sky Red Button the commentary said Pack but there was such chaos at the end it could have been Flint. The WBA manager was to blame for all of this and I'm sure the authorities will do something about that retrospectively.
We had no idea what to do once they went down to 10 which is disappointing
Decent point though
Supposedly there was an altercation in the dugout with West Brom fans shouting at Vaulks that he's a cheat etc, pathetic. That challenge was awful and Vaulks could have been seriously injured

We don't seem to have much going forward - anything attacking was dependent on Giles or a set-piece. Generally solid though and more than I expected.

Yeah, very little going forward
I suppose the issues is the midfield was very much one that would be described as "functional" rather than creative and clearly the plan was to be solid, that all changes when they go down to 10

Stone waller for me.
Happy with a point there when all's said and done.
Not a penalty for me. Yes, Pack had hands on him, but the WBA player obviously dived. There was no pulling, no shoving. That's the kind of bullshit that gets given by VAR. Most refs wouldn't give that in real-time.

Okay, maybe not a stone wall penalty but these are very often given.
It depends how much force there has been in the pull back and only the players themselves know whether it was enough.
Pull a shirt and you run the risk.
If it was outside the box then I reckon they'd be given nine times out of ten and the way that the ref had been officiating all through the game, I would not have been at all surprised had a pelanty been awarded.
I doubt Pack would have had much defence had it been.
It was a stupid challenge whichever way you view it.

It was stupid. If anyone on here can tell me why Pack had his hands on the WBA players shoulders as he's attempting to get around the outside of him then i'd be interested to know what the reason was. I'd very much doubt that it was for anyone elses benefit apart from pack, and i very much doubt that it would have helped the WBA player in any positive way, in fact, it could be argued that it impeded his movement. Thankfully, the Ref didn't see it that way, probably because they had scored an offside goal and it was the final kick of the game. For me, a penalty, i'd expect it if it was us and i would be disappointed if it wasn't given. As would the majority on here who are saying it wasn't a penalty. That's football.

Don't think so. But also looks a '90% penalty' from the replays. Not sure why Pack was doing that, so daft. I'd also like to say what big-hearted bloke Flint is. I know most players give 100% but he just exudes effort and passion. If City could find a 30yr old Bamba to play alongside him in a back 4, we would let in half the goals we currently do.

That's the point, Pack gave the ref a decision to make, idiot. I like Flint, he works hard and doesn't go missing when he makes a mistake or things get tough for him. Limited at times but honest and competitive. He's a good pro.

Colwill was positive and should start for me, but Davies should have come on sooner and he should have moved away from Bartley who was too strong for him. Let Collins occupy him.
Not a pen IMO.

Agree with all this apart from the penalty call.
As Tuerto has said elsewhere, we'd be baying for that one if it was the other way around and feel aggrieved to have not got it. But, their goal was offside.
Thought Morison didn't manage it well enough when WBA had the red. That was a massive advantage to us and we didn't exploit it. If anything, I really couldn't tell they were a player short as they created some brilliant chances.
No stand-outs for me today but very pleased we came away with a point but very disappointed we dropped 2.

Not a penalty. Their player threw himself to the ground after he felt an arm on him. Their goal was clearly offside. Good performance though. West Brom manager needs to get a grip.

Only saw the second half. Happy with the point but it’s 2 dropped for me. Their goal was offside and we had an extra man for twenty minutes.
Colwill was positive and should start for me, but Davies should have come on sooner and he should have moved away from Bartley who was too strong for him. Let Collins occupy him.
Not a pen IMO.
Just on that point about Davies moving away from Bartley and letting Collins occupy him, this is where I think we lack leadership. It's up to our manager, captain, and senior players to take some responsibility. Davies is a creative player and we desperately need that. Great goal from Collins but he's bland. Thought Harris showed some flair and sparkle today.

The most glaring deficiencies in our side is our inability not to win a second ball.

Morison’s words
"It was all caused by them having a stonewall penalty and the referee not giving it.

Did he rally say that? If so, then he's seeing the infringement not as an opposing manager but as a striker. He'd have been all over it. It was a penalty in my opinion.

This has been a massive problem for ages. It's so frustrating. Heading the ball in 'defensive' situations straight back to an opposition player (I'm looking at you Nelson and Flint).
There was one passage of play where we had possession, passed it sideways and backward all the way back to Smithies, because WBA was pressing only for Smithies to hoof the ball straight back to an Albion player at almost the exact same point on the park we started passing back from.
Incredible the turnaround in his Cardiff career, from an overpriced (I'd say he still is) donkey to cult hero!
I prefer him to Nelson and at the moment he's giving Morrison a run for his money.
Not a penalty for me. Yes, Pack had hands on him, but the WBA player obviously dived. There was no pulling, no shoving. That's the kind of bullshit that gets given by VAR. Most refs wouldn't give that in real-time.
The thing is that if Pack had kept his hands off him then noone would have thought it a penalty.
is there anyone out of picture, to the left?
Dont know, But You can even seen the Lino exactly inline with play, so no excuse that they were catching up

Pack got away with one there. There would be murder on here if that had been one of ours in the 94th minute.

Then again their goal looked miles offside so maybe that levelled things up?

This happened SO many times today 🤦*♂️

if it had been KM going down in the same manner we would have been screaming for a Pen
BUT having said that, if course it wasn't a pen, the player looked like he had been dragged back by his hood in the playground
its just a shame that football had ended up like this, but its happening at U10 level right now ( we played a U11 boys dev team between christmas and the NY, 3 of the boys were on Southamptons books and one Swindons, we played 9 V 9 and any contact, and I mean anything, they were rolling around on the floor, one player was outstanding at it, any tackle and he is down, in the pen area he would add a extra rolls, the worse was a front on tackle in the pen box, nothing to it, but he was down and rolled THREE times, the girls laughed at him and told him to get up, it was painful to watch, I spoke to the coach at the end of it, mentioned they have all the skill in the world ( and they did ) But every throw-in they took was a foul throw ( teach them the basics first ? ? ? ) the coach defended it and said thats the way the game has gone, you either learn the skill or you get left behind  he mentioned if you dont coach it, you are a dinosaurs  he wants to play again in Feb )
Then again their goal looked miles offside so maybe that levelled things up?
That's what i think. Ref bottled it.

I thought our overall play was a lot better. We actually looked dangerous going forward. I couldn’t fault the effort and fight from the boys today.

Morison has his opinion and I have mine. The guy just threw himself on the floor. It was disgusting.

So you reckon if the roles were reversed they would not have mentioned the equalising goal?
We are part of the narrative, which ain't in our favour.
Not paranoia, just fact.
My point is valid. It happened at the end of the game and caused a huge fracas. Its inevitable its going to be the bigger talking point.

Just seen that West Brom have just signed Daryl Dike from Orlando, he was unstoppable at Barnsley last year, probably a good time to have played them.

Cost them 8m apparently. Nice to have cash to spare.

Seen the WBA goal so many times each time it gets more offside! Mind you the more I look at the penalty appeal, the more I think it was a penalty, even though the WBA player made a meal of it.

Would just like to say how much of an effort we put into that game on Sunday. To a man Cardiff were superb in their endeavours.
We more than deserved our point and in front of almost 2000 away fans the players gave everything.
