No matches postponed today due to Covid-19 infections in either the FA Cup or the Football League. Not one. No games off in the three divisions of the Scottish Football League either.

Not bad considering the nationwide 'tsunami' of infections and illness.

Go to your nearest hospital and tell everyone in A&E this wonderful news.

In fairness, the bods didn't know how severe the Omicron variant would be. Looks like it's not as bad as the Delta Variant, great news. Even better news is that some prominent Scientific bods are saying that they think that this is the year that we really come away from this virus. They are hoping and forecasting that strains of the virus will become less severe.

Maybe its got to the stage that so many players have had it thats its now gone through most of the clubs and the peak of postponements has passed.

Hopefully. It has to be a positive given the number of Covid-19 postponements there were as recently as a week ago. Probably not something worth telling those who are sat awaiting treatment for injury and illness in A&E, but I thought it was worth mentioning on a football message board.

If each new variant is more transmissible but less threatening than the last, and that if each new variant lasts for a shorter time than the previous, we should be free of Covid by May 14th at 2.48pm

I noticed that, and thought it probably shows that clubs don't care so much about being weakened for the cup than for the league.

None of the 13 Football League games were postponed due to Covid-19 either (two were called off late due to waterlogged pitches).

Seven days ago, 7 Football League games were postponed due to Covid-19.

We can’t, told not to go unless you have lost a limb or had heart attack

That does suggest a trend other than clubs no longer pulling a fast one then.

Not sure where you got your data from, I had us free around an hour later than 2.48…

No games in the National League postponed because of Covid-19 today either. Two of last weekend's game were off for that reason.
