I remember it well. My daughters arranged for a half time birthday message for me. When they phoned it in, the guy taking the message said "are you sure you want to mention his age?" :hehe:

Top goal from a top player.

Must have gone a long way to getting him his move to Villa.

Shame his injury cut his career short, he'd probably have got 100 caps.

This is in my Top 30 all time favourite goals. At a time when we were pretty damn awful, this and Jason Fowler's goal v Brentford ('98-'99) at home always stood out for me. We didn't have much to cheer about in those dismal dark days, but those two goals were sheer class
