View Full Version : David Hando RIP
Former Newport County chairman David Hando has passed away. He was the driving force behind the reformed Newport AFC after County went bust, without him there’d be no Newport County today. I remember him as the Deputy Head at Radar Comp, a thoroughly decent man dedicated to his hometown club, how we could do with someone of his calibre on the board at Cardiff City. RIP Mr Hando.

I knew him from my days at Newport City Council. He had an air of quiet determination that others would do well to follow.

It really was a fantastic achievement by him.
Getting a team together, playing Gloucestershire because Alun Evans wouldn't let Newport AFC play in Newport.
Battling the FAW and winning.

Question
If Brentford and Bournemouth can survive in the top flight .....
Could Newport County establish themselves in the Championship ?
Looking at the population I think they possibly could
