Didn't think he was that brilliant as an interviewer, but I loved his books on his football and cricket memories from his youth. Think he was a better writer than broadcaster/interviewer although his programmes with Billy Connolly and Muhammad Ali were great television.

I think we can all agree 88 is a good age and he lived a full life. I would say sorry about Barnsley in the FA Cup. But I'm not. He's dead anyway so what does it matter?
