How to make natural dyes have fabric and clothes: 3 easy steps to take naturally at home - www.trekmovers.com

It may be difficult to understand, but we do not always use chemical products to hold the fabrics. For millennia, people used plants, roots and berries to have cotton, muslin, linen, silk and other fabrics.

These days, of course, we can go into a store and buy a full rainbow of flowers. cloth dye; but it's really fun to have the old-fashioned cloth. Not only does it give you a new appreciation for Mother Nature, it's also a fun and free way to get crafts and explore your creative side.

As an added bonus, the use of natural dyes can lead to a lot of frugal hogarenas decoration ideas; the results can be very elegant, and much more interesting than anything you would get from a box of RIT dye.

    What can you have?

Any natural light-colored fiber (preferably white) will take colorant. Here are some ideas:

    • Curtains
    • Towels
    • T-shirts
    • Bed sheets and pillow cases
    • Panuelos
    • Baby clothes
    • Paper

Yes, paper! Actually, it is easier to have fabrics. I just take regular, shiny white card stock and soak it in various dyes until I get the shade I want, then I hang it to dry it in my basement. The end resulted? Paper that is much better than anything you can buy in the stationery or in the art supply store!

What can be used as a natural coloring?

The best thing about natural food is that the ingredients you need are probably in your backyard or in the grocery store, especially when summer comes.

Here are some materials you can use use (and the colors you will get with each one).

    • Onion skins (yellow / orange)
    • Lila twigs (yellow / orange)
    • < li> Zucchini peel (yellow / orange)
    • Lemon-brown roots (brown)
    • Ground coffee / tea (brown)
    • Walnut hulls ( brown)
    • Boiled acorns (brown)
    • Strawberries / cherries (pink)
    • Roses (pink)
    • Lavender (pink) < / li>
    • Red cabbage (blue / purple)
    • Red maple tree bark (blue / purple)
    • Black iris (dark blue / purple)
    • Hyacinth flowers (blue)
    • Beets (dark red)
    • Crab apple rind (red / yellow)
    • Any red leaf (reddish brown) )
    • Rainbow roots (gray / black)
    • Blooms of Daylily (red / purple)
    • Artichokes (green)
    • Red clover (gold)
    • Queen Anne's lace (yellow)
    • Celery leaves (yellow)

For even more natural tinting ideas, there is a wonderful list in Pioneer Thinking that you should check out. There are also four pages of reader additions at the bottom of the page, so do not miss out on that valuable resource!

    How to get started

    Step 1: prepare the dye
Chop your plant or berries into small pieces, measure them and put them in a medium-large pot. Add twice as much water as the ingredients. Then, if you place two cups of plant material, add four cups of water.

Bring to a boil, and then simmer for an hour. Strain the hard materials and keep the "tint".

Keep in mind that the longer you allow the materials to settle in the water, the stronger your coloring will be. If you have time, you can even soak it overnight (without heat) to get a really concentrated solution.

    Step 2: Prepare the Fixative
Once you have selected what you want to have and you have your dye ready, you have to prepare a fixative for your fabric. This will "fix" the dye on the fibers so it does not wash.

If you use berries to hold your cloth, you should use a salt fixative. Put 1/2 cup of salt in 8 cups of water. Put your cloth here and boil for an hour.

If you use plants to hold your cloth, you should use a vinegar fixative. Combine one part of vinegar and four parts of water, and boil it in the mixture for an hour.

When your cloth is ready, rinse with cold water.

    Step 3: Take the cloth
All you do now is to place the wet cloth in the dyebath and simmer until the fabric has reached the color and shade you want. Remember, the color will be a little lighter once the fabric dries.

Then, wash the fabric separately and? Ready!

    Final word

Naturally, having the fabric at home is something especially fun to do in the winter months because, let's face it, we're trapped inside and we need activities! In addition, we probably all have many dyes, such as onion skins and celery leaves, handy as "waste" anyway. So, if you do not like vermicomposting to help save the environment, this is a great way to use these materials instead of just throwing them away.

I'd love to hear from all of you about this. Have you tried the natural dyes before?

How to pay your car loan early - www.trekmovers.com

Like most people, I hate debt, and the idea of paying a loan for several years always leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Although I realize that the loans may be necessary to buy a house or pay for a university education, I do not agree with the idea of financing elements that unequivocally lose value.

For this reason, I always resolved to cancel my auto loans early. This not only improves my monthly cash flow, but also improves my credit score.

Benefits of paying an early car loan

The bottom line is that you pay a car loan early will save you money in interest payments. Imagine what you can do with the extra money: reinforce your savings account, make improvements at home, save for retirement or maybe pay other debts.

Taking a car loan can also affect your credit , since the credit scores take into account your level of debt. I had a credit score of 810 when I was approved for funding, and after two months of timely payments, I verified my credit score and discovered that I had lost 15 points. I had not lost any payment, nor had I accumulated a credit card debt, the fall was entirely due to the new loan I had acquired.

I realize that a fall of 15 points is not so bad if Your score falls within the range of 700 to 800 or higher. However, if your score is within the range of 600, 15 points can be the difference between the approval of a loan and a denial. Although your credit score will decrease after receiving a new loan for the car, the sooner you pay, the faster you can recover those points.

Ways to speed up the payment of a car loan

Paying in cash to buy a car is a way to avoid the high interest charges and the monthly payments of the car. But if you do not have the money available to pay for your car in full, some simple techniques can help eliminate your car's debt more quickly.

    1. Round off your payment

Rounding out the payment of your car loan is an easy and simple way to eliminate some months from the term of your car loan. You do not need a lot of extra money, but the more you add to your payments, the sooner you can give up your loan.

To illustrate, let's say you buy a car for $ 20,000 and pay an interest of 4.25% for 60 months The monthly payment based on these numbers is $ 371. By rounding your payment to $ 400, your car loan is shortened by six months. Go one step further and increase your payments by $ 100 per month and you can reduce the term of your car loan by 13 months.

    2. Make biweekly payments

You only need to make monthly payments for car loans, but if you reach an agreement with your automatic lender, the company could allow biweekly payments.

The concept behind Biweekly payments are simple, and making payments according to this schedule will ultimately reduce how much you will pay in interest. Present half of the payment of your car loan to your lender every two weeks. Because there are 52 weeks in the year, this equals 26 annual payments, or an additional payment per year. Using the previous illustration, your payments in a bi-weekly program equal $ 185.30 every two weeks.

Continue with this program during the term of your car loan and it will shorten your loan in five months. Discuss this option with your first-time lender, and be sure to ask about advance payment penalties.

    3. Make an extra payment per year

If you simply do not have the cash flow To commit to biweekly payments, you can achieve the same results by making an additional loan payment per year. Use the money from your tax refund and work bonuses, or take cash from your savings. Better yet, divide the monthly payment of your car by 12 and then add this total to each future monthly payment. This also results in an additional payment per year and helps pay off the car loan a little earlier.

    4. Avoid the option of omission of payment

Some lenders will allow you to skip your payment once or twice a year. My lender encourages omission payment options during the month of December and, in the past, always took advantage of these opportunities. However, each omitted payment extends your loan for at least one month and adds additional interest. Skip your payment four or five times during the term of the loan and add six months to the term of the car.

    Final word

I have been rounding the payments of my car since I requested my last loan, and it has given me good results. With my current payment rate, I will save approximately $ 200 in interest. I realize that $ 200 is not a large sum of money in the span of five years; however, saving $ 200 in interest will reduce the payment of my car loan by four or five months. Not bad for a technique that is so simple.

Have you ever paid an early car loan? If so, what techniques did you use?
