Premier League matches postponed.
All matches in this game week (Sat, Sun, Mon) have been postponed.
Surely the Championship will follow suit?

EFL OFF

Re: Premier League matches postponed.
Further to discussions on Friday morning it has been determined that all EFL fixtures from 9-10 September will be postponed as a mark of respect by the National Sport to the passing of HRH Queen Elizabeth II.

Re: Premier League matches postponed.
What a load of ****ing bullshit. A 96-year-old lady dies and peoples' weekends get ruined. For what?
-
Re: Premier League matches postponed.
Absolutely pathetic. Imagine all the businesses that will lose money this weekend, and for what exactly?
Utterly ridiculous.

Re: Premier League matches postponed.
It’s a joke. There was no obligation to do this. Just knobs trying to curry favour.
-
Re: Premier League matches postponed.
Granted policing must now be the issue, what about the money spent by thousands that they will almost certainly not get back? Fans again are a complete after thought. EFL and Premier League have enough money to offer a refund on expenses for all fans, but they won't.

Absolutely spot on - what a load of shite and I feel for those that have incurred travel and accommodation costs especially in the current financial climate

Re: Premier League matches postponed.
I’m glad it’s off, we would have made tits of ourselves during any minutes silence.

Achieves absolutely nothing. What are people going to do instead - pop to Tesco or go to the pub. How’s that any more respectful
West Ham showed last night how to show respect. Have a bit of a clap and play on.

Will still happen at later date, though to be fair the 80 at Middlesbrough might struggle to boo loud enough

You're probably being sarcastic but Potential earnings are just deferred. Postponed is not cancelled.

No certainty there won’t be Boro fans joining in. Hearts’ minutes silence was cut in half due to booing and chants of “**** the royals”. They’re one of the more monarchist clubs in Scotland too. Maroon Union Jacks at games and that sort of stuff.

But, Shirley, food would have been delivered today, for tomorrow’s match ?
That will wasted

Not if people have booked time off for this weekend specifically.
Not if people have budgeted for 2 games a month and then suddenly there’s 3.
Not if it’s rearranged to a midweek where attendances are always lower.
Then there’s all the stock that will go wasted. The staff that will have to be paid for redoing work they’ve already done (groundsmen for one example).

You reckon the same home crowds turn up for midweek games as do for weekend games? You reckon as many away fans travel to midweek games as do for weekend games? I don’t.

Re: Premier League matches postponed.
so let's make everyone miserable over the weekend by cancelling sport, medieval thinking.

In a way yes, but there will be businesses that survive week-to-week who may not make it to the time this comes around again.
Also what about the hospitality and catering that’s gets planned and ordered that’s been cancelled this late on.
Stuff has to be paid for and won’t keep until this is rearranged on a mid week in February.
Where is the respect here.

Maybe we'll all have to practice our archery instead!

Re: Premier League matches postponed.
Bundesliga still on though. It's what Mrs Saxe Coburg would've wanted.
