Saifullah Paracha released from Guantanamo
Saifullah (now aged 75) was kidnapped in 2003 while on a business trip and tortured by US personnel in Afghanistan. A year later, he was flown to Guantánamo in shackles and imprisoned there for 18 years without charge or trial.
He was unanimously cleared for release by six US intelligence agencies in May 2021 – more than a year ago. He was finally let go on Friday and is back with his family in Pakistan.
There are still over 30 detainees in Guantanamo. Most held without charge or trial. A dozen captives were subjected to a sort of US military commission charge but only two were convicted under that flawed system.
This has continued under George W Bush, Obama, Trump and Biden.

God let's hope he doesn't come here we have enough Western hating preachers .. ..
I'm with sludge he did something or was involved , otherwise lovely old peace loving Democratic Barack would have freed him surely ..
In his file, U.S. intelligence agencies said he had helped Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the accused mastermind of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, “facilitate financial transactions and propaganda” after the attacks, and said he met with Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan before the attacks as part of a delegation of Pakistani dignitaries.

The US intelligence agencies took these people to Gitmo so the agency personnel could not be tried under US laws. you cannot hold someone for 18 years without trial.
