He did. Brought in Kevin Bartlett, Gilligan from Lincoln for 25,000. Wimbleton, Mike Ford, Leggy and Bowen, Eckhardt, Fowler, Curtis. Plenty More as well. Very good at the cheap end. Improved players as well.

Jimmy Scoular, without a Woodbine he was a miserable git.

Re: Most Miserable Cardiff City Manager Of All Time
I could never really see why people thought Dave Jones was so miserable. He was a pragmatist doing a difficult job and he didn't play to the peanut gallery. I had no problem with it.

Miserable git , rarely thanked the fans for their support . He was paid well.

Durban, though he didn't have a lot to smile about to be honest. As he said "..if you want entertainment go to the circus.."

Re: Most Miserable Cardiff City Manager Of All Time
Has to be Scoular by a country mile.
He made Alex Ferguson Look like the life and soul of any party.
If you want proof just look at what auto correct throws up when we try and type his name, scowler !

Re: Most Miserable Cardiff City Manager Of All Time
The most miserable poster on here would be an interesting thread :-)

Re: Most Miserable Cardiff City Manager Of All Time
Phil “I’m to famous to talk to you” Neal
Booby “I don’t sign kids autograph books” Gould
Russell “you will watch Escape to Victory” Osman

Re: Most Miserable Cardiff City Manager Of All Time
Mick for me, really can't say I know anything more about him than before he joined.
I know we haven't been speed dating or anything but they usually give something away, win, lose or draw he was the same, said the same stuff.
Dont think his heart was ever in it and towards the end was actually looking for the pay off.

Wasnt he having an affair with a very attractive wales netball player about 20 years younger than him at the time, you'd think that would have cheered him up a bit

Re: Most Miserable Cardiff City Manager Of All Time
I'm astonished that no one's mentioned Alan Cork. Permanently stoney faced with that monotone, I literally can't ever remember him smiling. Very reminiscent of Father Stone
