Scrumpy at 9d a pint in The Mitre, Llandaff was great value when I started drinking 'properly'. Ratted for about 3 bob.

Re: Anyone Else Remember Pt 2
I remember paying 39p for a pint of John Smith's. That was in a social club. I think a pint in the pub was 48p. A fiver was more than enough for a decent night down the pub.

Re: Anyone Else Remember Pt 2
i can remember being able to buy 10 fags for 1/11d. I would buy 10 Cadets on the way down to the City at a shop on Ninian Park Road. We used to call them the One Drag Fag. They were all gone by half-time.

I remember having 5 pints there at that price and having change from a 50p piece. Needed a nap in the grass on the way home. Brain's Dark was 15p a pint at the time.

Re: Anyone Else Remember Pt 2

In the early seventies it seemed that decent beer was going to disappear for ever. Disgusting slop such as Worthington E, Trophy, Watney's were taking over and it was a travesty. Carling and the like are still out there but thank goodness that some people with functioning taste buds resisted the trend of consuming such swill....
