Pre-match facts
- Six of the last nine league meetings between Cardiff and Blackburn have ended as a draw, including a goalless draw earlier this season.
- Blackburn are looking to win consecutive away league matches against Cardiff for the first time since April 1985 (four in a row).
- Cardiff conceded as many goals in their 0-5 defeat against Sheffield Wednesday last time out as they had in their previous 10 league matches combined.
- Blackburn are winless in their last six league games, the longest current such run in the Championship.
- Only Emiliano Buendía (15) has more assists in the Championship this season than Blackburn’s Harvey Elliott (10).
Looking like a draw then.
The team will be interesting. Will there be changes, will any youngsters start? Hope so.
I don’t - whilst there is a slim chance of the playoffs, we need to play our strongest side.
What our manager seems to deem our strongest side just got pumped 5-0 by Sheffield Wednesday
We need to pick up 8 more points than Reading over the course of 6 six games to make the playoffs, it ain't happening.
Shambles. Should be a laugh at least.. or not.
Smithies back between the posts
Smithies, Ng, Wilson and Murphy back for Phillips, Ralls, Bacuna (who's not a sub) and Williams - Osei-Tutu on the bench.
Cardiff City XI: Smithies; Nelson, Flint, Brown; Sang, Vaulks, Pack, Ng; Wilson, Murphy, Moore.
Subs: Phillips, Osei-Tutu, Ralls, Williams, Colwill, Hoilett, Ojo, Watters, Harris.
Blackburn Rovers XI: Kaminski; Nyambe, Lenihan, Harwood-Bellis, Douglas; Trybull, Travis, Johnson; Elliott, Armstrong, Gallagher
Subs: Pears, Branthwaite, Bennett, Bell, Downing, Davenport, Holtby, Dolan, Brereton
I'd say yes to Bacuna injured and yes to Ng and Sang positions.
Good to see Ng back.
Bit tough on Philips but conceding five, although perhaps not directly his fault, is probably fair and GK is a big part of the shambolic defence.
Also Smithies has had to wait for his chance and deserves a recall, hopefully can turn the tide.
I'm not looking forward to this.
What is it with us and our full backs?
At the start of the season we were overloaded with left backs and were resorting to midfielders on the right. Now it’s the total opposite with three capable right backs in the squad today and no left back available for the foreseeable future! Talk about unlucky!
Better line up but would have preferred the Vaulks Pack combination ended.
Two ****ing minutes?
Best of order, minutes silence for HRH Prince Philip
How long is Mozza out for?
Great run from Kieffer
How did Moore miss that. We seem a little bit more lively today.
