Re: COVENTRY CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I’ve not woken up from the dross on display yesterday Mike. Too soon haha.
Can’t see anything but a 2-0 loss.

people were quite confident yesterday we would get beaten 3-0 , yet were somehow pretty disappointed with a draw

Re: COVENTRY CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I think our “style” suits playing away from home and hitting teams on the break, I’m an optimist I know. I’d play Colewill instead of Ralls in the middle and Whyte or Ojo possibly out wide.

I'd start the same but with Harris instead of Philogene.
hopefully Davies is close to making the bench

I'd be surprised if anyone was disappointed with yesterday's result simply because the match ended in a draw. I think it's far more likely that people were disappointed by a poor display in a terrible game that ended 0-0 after City had failed to register a single shot on target.

Re: COVENTRY CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I'm disappointed that we failed to win a game that was there for the taking. And that we have a striker that can't hit the target from 8 yards out.

Makes sense, Philogene is probably not ready for 2 games in 4 days

I think we will see plenty of rotation with Blackburn so soon after too

How's the crack pipe?

Re: COVENTRY CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
I'm also having a 'senior moment' and think we will win this one.... ...

not expecting much from this one, think Coventry have come into a bit of form

Re: COVENTRY CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
We have to go back to October fo get a Coventry home defeat. Since then they have had good wins, last one v WBA.
Their main man is centre forward Gyolkeres who by all accounts is being looked at by several Prem clubs.
Think he needs to be tamed and we may have a chance.
Am generally v pessimistic but think we can nick a draw.
1-1

They've won 1 in 4 since the World Cup
-
Re: COVENTRY CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
We lose this one and Blackburn and Hudson will be on his way
-
Re: COVENTRY CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
They were on brilliant form before the World Cup. 7W 1D 1L, a run that started with a 1-0 win over us.
Now it’s 1 win, which was a 93rd minute penalty to win. 1 draw, which was 3-3 after being 3-0 up. And 2 losses.
It’s a hard one to call but we’re playing them at the best time it seems.

Yeah i'm a pessimist, that's an optimist with experience.
Agree that maybe Ralls and Wintle together is too defensive in the middle, but i don't think Colwill (only 20), Whyte or Ojo is the answer.

I’m mostly a realist, but have to find a way of turning up to games year after year.
I think Sang would offer a bit more dynamism than Ralls. Colwill needs to play in the middle and leave the wing to wingers.

Be interesting what changes for Thursday.
Suspect Harris, Rino and Sang will come in. Philogene, Colwill and Etete may drop to bench.

Colwill in a midfield two would be a complete and utter disaster. He won't be disciplined enough. We have to play Ralls and Wintle because the other CMs we have can't play (Rino) or can't run (Sawyers). I think I've talked myself into 3 at the back, with O'Dowda as a LWB, and Colwill behind the two strikers. I think we've got to get our difference makers into positions in where they can make it count. And let's be honest, most of the team are now undroppable. We have 12 players that I rate, signing Morrison would be a no brainer if he's fit. Might score a few, too.

Lady Godiva, Sir Nigel Hawthorne, Pete Waterman, Frank Whittle, Phillip Larkin,Ken Loach, Jimmy Hill, Earnie Hunt, Bill Glazier, George Curtis, my Aunty Irene and Willie Carr ....your boys are unlikely to take a hell of a beating.

Re: COVENTRY CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
No Robinson and no Etete. Hammering incoming.
