I've never understood the reason they don't just stop the clock like in rugby, anyone know?
my only issue with this is the backing down we will see.
when the world cup started, you saw 8,9 or more minutes of injury time almost every game. but it became less and less as the tournament went on (pressure from tv perhaps?)
end of the day, if they dont do it properly, whats the point.
Shame they aren't doing anything about players crowding around the ref in an attempt to pressure them
I think that is covered here....
"Participant behaviour
Similarly to delaying the restart, match officials will be empowered by the game to take a more robust approach to dealing with participant behaviour when it falls below expected standards on-field and in the technical area."
...with apparently further guidance to come.
Huddersfield fans will need to book trains and busses much later if they go one nil up :hehe: I'd be worried about Warnock blowing a gasket too, the poor fourth official.
Interesting let's see if they stick to this, they usually go back to normal after a few months.
