Washington Redskins Rebranding
Looks as though the “Skins” are going to change things up.
Obviously different over here with “franchises” and that, but a massive deal.
I wonder if there will be a similar outcry that we had?

Re: Washington Redskins Rebranding
I'm sure it will be much worse. There will be cries of "tradition" and "heritage" just like with the confederate flag.

Slightly off topic I see that the Little Mermaid is racist now

Perhaps she knew the gay snake that Malky didn't like?

Re: Washington Redskins Rebranding
They’ll be after the Patriots next.
The Dallas Cowboys too. Endorsing violence against Indians.

Re: Washington Redskins Rebranding
I suppose the name "Washington Bullets" is going spare now...

Bit too soon for the Washington Sandanistas I guess

Re: Washington Redskins Rebranding
Which part of their name are they changing? The first bit named after a slave owner, or the second?

Re: Washington Redskins Rebranding
This debate about the redskins happened a couple of years ago and there was such an outcry that in the end they left well alone. as I recall it wasn't the Indians getting upset the it was the PC Brigade getting faux outraged on their behalf.
And I'll bet it isn't the Indians now either.

Can see the reasoning from that change as FC was proper dodgy back then.
Missed a trick by not going for The Washington Justice and playing at The Supreme Court.
Wizards was a proper shite choice.

I don't suppose most Indians have even heard of the Washington Redskins, but more native Americans might have a view on it.

Wow you've just got your finger on the pulse of everything, now including what the 5 million Native Americans that exist in the US feel about stuff as well

I do believe you could look it up as you seem to be one of those who believe the internet is the font of all knowledge.
Nothing to do with my having my finger on the pulse of anything.

But he maybe right , he is not say the name is right or wrong simply pointing out it was an issue for a different set of people , its now raised and hijacked by someone else , along with gone with the wind film and songs like swing low sett chariot ,but did BLM have a view on native Americans or do they have they own form of racism between themselves ?
