I will be using it on a pay as you go basis as I do most of my Internet stuff on my tablet
I see its a 4g phone , is that going to make much difference to a tech idiot ?

I had one that is now with my wife. It's a good phone and good for going online to the point you might find you use it instead of your tablet. If it's pay ang go link it to your broadband to use it online free. Download Whats Ap for free texts etc. Don't worry about being useless at tech as my wife who uses this phone even struggled to text until a friend taught her.

It's the mobile bit. Almost any app you can get on your tablet you can download on =to your Samsung phone through Playstore, The more you have the more battery you use. Just as the phone has as good a camera as you were using 10 years ago but every photo takes up memory. You can get unlimited calls, texts etc with most companies for less than £8 a month and try Giffgaff if you don't want a contract

Looks like it was travelling innocently up the Tawe enjoying the cultural history of Copperopolis when the Townhill Shooter took it it out!

More shame on you for spending your days training as a sniper then. How many more innocent lives will you take before you get me!

Vindec makes a great point about mobile phone use. When I got my first mobile I barely used it for the net until I upgraded to an s8 18 months ago. Now I do everything on my phone, from banking to porn😛. Rarely use iPad/laptop. Think you may find the same.
Get the best phone you can afford, one of the cheap monthly sim only contracts with people like giffgaff(credit Maxim) and you wont look back.

Get a huawei y5 cheap as chips from argos.
It'll do everything a Samsung will do.

Galaxy A 10 is a fine phone, will do everything you need, my mother has one, and is perfect balance between everything you need, done well at a good price.
I would not recommend pay as you go, the sim only deals are so good now, that it does not make sense to get pay as you go.
My father has a sim only plan from Three (3) it is £5 a month 1gb internet and UNLIMITED calls and texts, bargain.
