Your sensible tips to save energy in the home
I turn off the cooker and hob a wee while before food is cooked as the temperature in the frying pan/saucepan/oven will continue to cook food fow a few minutes afterwards.
I also keep some large bottles of mineral water in the fridge rather than energy be wasted by the fridge having to cool the incoming air when opening the fridge door.

Do you save more by putting bottles of mineral water in the fridge, than the cost of buying them in the first place?

I turn off all my electric and gas appliances and live like a caveman with my wooly mammoth to keep me warm

I went a step further and I now live in a tent in the garden. The bulldozers are coming next week to demolish the house, so I can have more space for free footie kick abouts.

The bottles concerned actually contain tap water (as I drank the fizzy contents as a matter of course). Forgot to mention that. They could be large plastic Coke bottles that would otherwise be sent to the tip etc.

Straight in the shower after a number 2 save on toilet paper
Number 1 then in the shower save the flush
Re: Your sensible tips to save energy in the home
Leave the oven door open to let the heat disperse - free 10 minutes of heating instead of letting it go to waste
*Don't do it if kids are in the house*

No worries. Let me know how you get on. From what I've heard, you'll save a fortune.

Leave the central heating on all the time, rather than heating the house from cold twice a day.

Just today I’ve saved a full roll but the water bill has gone through the roof

Exactly how large are you talking about? I can't fit those 5 litre bottles into my fridge.
Re: Your sensible tips to save energy in the home
I'm thinking about chopping my legs off, so that my body can warm the upper regions more efficiently.
