After hearing Stephen Graham's attempt at a Welsh accent in White House Farm that seems faintly amusing.

Ann George-Aka Amy Turtle from Crossroads.

Re: Greatest Actor on TV……Got To Be….
Do you mean still alive?
Have to think about that
The late John Thaw probably has a good claim if you mean ever.
His roles in the Sweeney, Morse Kavanagh QC and Home to Roost show how versatile he was.

Re: Greatest Actor on TV……Got To Be….
When I saw the title of the thread my first thought was John Thaw. Timothy Spall however is right up there aswell.

Yes he is Sludge. About a year ago he got out of a taxi in London, looking a little bit unsteady on his feet. My niece went over to help him out and he was extremely gracious and polite. It was only afterwards she realised who he was.
Richard Wilson was superb as Merlin's mentor Gaius in the TV series.

He's very anti Conservative so that's a positive as far as I am concerned

David Threlfall of Frank Gallagher fame, has turned his hand to many roles since.
Steve Pemberton is an extremely versatile actor.
Martin Freeman.

Re: Greatest Actor on TV……Got To Be….
Michael Kitchen as Detective Chief Superintendent Christopher Foyle was the man I'd like to be.

No of course not.
Richard Wilson has every right to be anti conservative
BUT.......
We are going to have enough political discussion on the Alternative forum in the lead up to the election.
Can't we leave them out of unconnected threads on the main board?

Re: Greatest Actor on TV……Got To Be….
Some great names mentioned on this thread, but for me, I’m with the OP, David Jason.
Whenever I watched Frost, I never once thought of Del Boy. Whenever I watched Pa Larkin, I never once thought of Del Boy or Frost.

Re: Greatest Actor on TV……Got To Be….
Paul Henry (Smith).
The way he wore that woolly hat as Benny from Crossroads was masterful.

That is why I mentioned John Thaw.
The four parts I mentioned (Sweeney,Morse,Kavanagh,Home to Roost)
were all marked different, even more so than the parts you have mentioned for Jason
Both very good but I would prefer Thaw on balance
