Great song in my opinion, the team did a brilliant job of cleaning up the original recording.
Views will vary wildly on here I suspect.

Of course
But I think the one from 20 years ago was the same sort of thing .
It's like Led Zep .....the only decent song off that coda was poor tom .
Grateful dead .....just playing for pennies towards the end
Sabbath ? ......dreadful studio albums after 76 really
I was a love demon 20 years ago but I am shot to bits these days
You gotta know when to wrap up

The Beatles have wrapped up though, this song is forty odd years old. Good mini documentary on BBC1 yesterday evening about the making of it. Excellent how John’s voice has been cleaned up and mixed in.

I am not doubting that but it's a flaccid song

Also Paul & Ringo are practically on their uppers. Who can knock them for trying to squeeze a last few bob out of the punters. They’re pensioners y’know.

Re: The Last Ever Beatles Song
It's ok, but sounds like an album track more than a single. Interesting to hear it though, and how it was made.

Floyd ......home , home again , I like to be here where I can
Great expansive guitars , great singing by Gilmour , band in total control
They have a few arguments, split up then record a momentary lapse of reason which was rubbish and that's been it really
Put your feet up , have an early night etc

Surely they have paid enough NI contributions but you could be right

After some of the tuneless and talentless bands and songs that you have championed on here, I don’t think you are in any position to judge whether other bands are good, bad or over the top. When you talk about ‘legend’ bands like Led Zep, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and particularly The Stones and Beatles, who have given so much enjoyment to millions of people all over the world for decades and some continue to do so even today, you haven’t got a clue what you are talking about, in my opinion. Thats is after all what your words are - just your opinion and not an experts analysis.

Re: The Last Ever Beatles Song
Never mind that as the Stones have a whole new album out and it is fantastic.

Lots of things become flaccid when you get older.

Have a listen to the latest remastering of 'Revolver', using AI to separate the tracks and mix them again. Hope they do the same with Sgt Pepper. Really worth a listen.

Not sure that it could have been recorded any later in the day to be honest.
It's fine. Lennon's vocals sound a lot better than they did on the 90s tracks so it was worth waiting for AI to come along. I can see why George wasn't fussed about it (in a worse state back then, and compared to the two they put out) and it's a shame that they have lost some of the more interesting parts of Lennon's original demo ,but overall I'm glad it exists.

Well The Beatles were a staggering band once they left the teeny bopper sound
Revolver , Rubber Soul , White Album , it was monumental stuff

It coincided pretty much with a decision to stop gigging and concentrate on studio stuff.
I find it quite staggering that for years, they never released singles from their albums, they were unique songs not to be found elsewhere.
