Greatest Cardiff Goals (the deep cuts)
What are you favourite Cardiff goals that don’t get enough credit?
I appreciate that sadly many won’t have been filmed or won’t be on YouTube so feel free to just name them.
Two that come to mind for me
Earnie v Stoke City at Ninian Park 2003

And Graham Kavanagh v Wrexham at the Racecourse in 2001

Re: Greatest Cardiff Goals (the deep cuts)
Thread inspired by the mention of Paul Millar scoring from long range for us in the 90s goals thread. OP said Birmingham away, and BlueTit and Splott Parker said it was actually at the Vetch.
But by the looks of it he did it twice, and a decent effort at Brighton too
This was before my time so I’ve never seen any of the goals or even heard of him if I’m honest.
Birmingham

Swansea

Carl Dale at home to Wrexham, Welsh cup semi-final.

Blake v man city
Re: Greatest Cardiff Goals (the deep cuts)
A few years back Neil Matthews was working down here, lagging or something, and he was getting in The Shed (Pengam Moors Club) every night. I got talking to him a few times, one night he was a bit worse for wear and he says I’ll give my mate Windy a ring and you can have a chat with him. Neil was incoherent but, dear God, understanding Paul Millar was nigh on impossible. Really broad Northern Irish accent, did get the gist of what he told me, Neil frequently phoned him when he’d had a few, talking over old times. Neil never mentioned Windy’s half way line efforts but never failed to run through that Friday night goal he scored away at Colchester:hehe:
Re: Greatest Cardiff Goals (the deep cuts)
Windy’s goal at Brighton, in a 5-2 win (I think that was the score) , on a rainy Tuesday night
Windy, gets the ball I his own half, he’s running towards goal, Eddie May on the bench, is screaming, “play it wide, play it wide”, next second “Oh, good goal”
F uck ing amazing night

It was at the old Goldstone Ground, (I think it was the season it shut down), the rain was so bad, that on the terrace at the front, was about 4 to 5 inches of water, when Windy’s goalbound shot hit the net, one of the 1927 clubs boys fell over into the giant puddle !!!
He just laid there doing swimming motions, funny as f uck

He scored a hat trick that night I think, 5-3 it was.
Jimmy Gilligan scored a cracking Brazilian type goal against Exeter in 1987 I think it was - don’t think I’ve ever seen it on video since, so there may be a bit of rose coloured spectacles going on mind.
