Re: Our right back problem
I'm left footed and normally played left back or left half and because I was left footed I always had more chance of being picked because most people are right footed.
I've never played in a team that has a problem finding a right back for as long as City has. I realise thats a simplistic view of it but even so it really is odd that we haven't had a decent right back for so long!
Re: Our right back problem
Agree it’s time to put Bucuna back in midfield, even try gavin white RB.

How many left-footed players have been good right-backs?

Not a bad shout at all. He's got a good engine and can be defensively good.
Re: Our right back problem
JOT will be fit soon. I think we should sign a right bacon Jan but we'll have to make do with Bacuna.

Whyte isn't a right back though. Tracking back is one thing, defensive anticipation and positioning is more important.

Mark Kennedy was a left midfielder until Jones put him at left back. I guess, in Kennedy's case, he had lots of experience and could adapt more easily.

Mark Kennedy was a Premier League player with massive experience, who knew what he was doing. I don't know if you can say the same about Whyte...

It would be a disaster. The reason that he runs around so much when we don't have the ball is that he's frequently out of position!
Re: Our right back problem
If only we had gone in for Adam Matthews or Chris Gunter. Missed a trick there.

I think he’ll get sliced and fried
Re: Our right back problem
Haven’t seen him play, but why not try the Croatian lad, Benkovic, at right back . Can’t be any worse than what we got now
And another 6ft plus for set pieces

last season he had one of the highest tackles per 90 minutes in the division I think.

More to fightback than tackling. Maldini said if you had to make a tackle that was because you made a mistake.

Whyte is the weakest person I’ve ever seen in a Cardiff shirt and that includes the kids in the family stand.

Given the bruises my 7 year old gives me on an almost daily basis I can well believe that!

From what I saw of Benkovic in the Under 23 match he played, I'd say it would be better to play him alongside Morrison and move Nelson to right back, but, with only one specialist senior right back in the squad and nobody like a Bagan coming through in the youth ranks, anything we do in Osei-Tutu's absence is just papering over the cracks. I'm not one of those calling for Neil Harris to be sacked, but he's got to accept responsibility for leaving us short in that position until January.

Is there a list of players at premier league clubs who aren't included in their 25 man squads or loaned out anywhere - I wonder if there will be some there. I know there are some high profile players like Ozil and Phil Jones who fit into that category, but wondering if there are some others too.
On a side note, imagine pulling off a miracle move to get Ozil and then trying to fit him, Wilson and Tomlin into the same side :hehe:

There’s the answer then Ozil for right back

What has happened to Benkovic? He hasn't even been on the bench for the first team recently.
