Opposition Leaders Debate
May as well have a thread for this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2015-32328664
Kicking off on BBC 1 tonight at 8pm. The line-up from left to right will be:
Ed Miliband, the lovely Leanne Wood, Natalie Bennett, Nicola Sturgeon and on the far right Nigel Farage. Prog hosted by David DimbleTory.
Re: Opposition Leaders Debate
It will be interesting to see if they all gang up on Milliband - with SNP, PC and Greens attacking him for 'austerity lite' - or if they all use it as a golden opportunity for a free hit on Cameron.

Both, I reckon. Miliband will do most of the "Cameron is a chicken" stuff. The ladies will team-up to give Miliband a battering. While Farage will be cacking himself at the very prospect of having Sturgeon standing next to him.
Re: Opposition Leaders Debate
I think miliband may win this one actually.
Expect him to use the words "2 horse race" a lot.
Re: Opposition Leaders Debate
However the real winner will probably be David Cameron.

In fairness to Cameron he has played a blinder in giving the SNP, Greens and Plaid such a big platform in these debates.
Re: Opposition Leaders Debate
I expect Sturgeon, Milliband and Farage all to make a big deal out of Cameron not being there tbh.

I don't think he'll do that again, I think one of his people would've pulled him to the side and said it looks a bit weird.

I realise that but I wasn't aware that the debate was purely for the opposition parties. I just though that all leaders were invited but Cameron declined. Having just followed that link I can see that I was mistaken. Can't remember such a thing happening before and I don't quite see the logic of it.

It's an opportunity for him for sure. Wonder if he'll do his gazing into the camera routine again. I find it a bit unsettling myself.
No doubt he will find some other way to be a bit weird though.

Yeah me either. Clegg comes across well during these debates. I would have expected him to want to be there even though Cameron didn't.
Re: Opposition Leaders Debate
You mean to say the saviour of the workers is not taking part?

Perception is everything in modern day politics.

Re: Opposition Leaders Debate
I dont think they will all gang up on Milliband - as deep down the SNP, Plaid, the Greens etc want to jump into bed with him. Milliband will crown himself the new 'leader of the gang'
The SNP want to tie him up and let Nichola Stugeon polictally sh@g him until they get Devo Max. Plaid will do the same and the greens.
Farage will accuse him of not letting the people have a say on Europe by not allowing a referendum and that he cant and wont do anything about immigration / overseas tax etc. and milliband will trot out his usual I'm the son of an immigrant and talk about some random bloke he met in the High St last week.
Labour like the Lib Dems have both signed up to a 30 billion reduction in the next parliament - so the only debate to be had is how do you want it served up - a kick in the nuts or a punch in the face - either way one or both of that will happen next Parliament.

Re: Opposition Leaders Debate
I think that Cameron has right royally f'd up by not going on this debate.
All five leaders will have carte blanche to lay into him. Of course, normally the public would have sympathy if he isn't there to defend himself, but he's ducked out of it by choice, so he has no sympathy.
Very odd decision by Cameron if you ask me. A long way to go, but I think it might contribute towards costing him the election, as I increasingly think Labour will win

Dodgy Dave will be OK now that he has the support of the workers - vote for the Conservative Socialist Party if you want to have a nice life http://www.ccmb.co.uk/images/smiley_icons/thumbup.gif

Re: Opposition Leaders Debate
Talking of opposition leaders, I see Mrs Clinton is promising to protect the American people from the 1% .. while being funded by the 1%.
Now where have I heard that before http://www.ccmb.co.uk/images/smiley_icons/sherlock.gif
