I think we can all agree that the result is a foregone conclusion, but when are we going to win it? Before lunch? Good weather forecast all day so the rain won't save the filthy Aussies.

LETS. PLAY. CRICKET.
All out in 45 minutes, giving England (and Wales) and hour to knock off the runs before lunch.
If the Aussie tail can somehow cling on for a few hours and establish a lead in the region of 120, maybe this test may still have a twist?
For the sake of those with tickets for today, let's hope so. They almost pulled off an unlikely victory at Edgbaston 10 years ago - I turned down tickets for that last day because I thought we'd take those last two wickets in an hour and I didn't want to spend £50 on an hour's cricket. A bad decision, in hindsight.Quote:

Come on the lads.
Awful news about Anderson though, but Trent Bridge has never been his most productive ground. Sounds like he'll be good for the Oval though, thank God.
I'm not sure if you could actually be any more wrong there.Quote:

Out of interest, what would the etiquette have been had we bowled them out last night and needed something trivial like 15 runs to win? Do we open with Cook and Lyth, or do they give Finn the chance to go out there and win the game? Is that considered rude?
Credit to the Aussie tail: they are turning a farce into a position where there might be a chance of a game here. They are still 50/7 though.
Au contraire. It is his best ground. He has taken 53 wickets in 8 tests there including 10 wickets in a match twice at an average of under 20. He also was part of a test record 10th wicket partnership of 198 with Joe Root and made a career best score of 81,a record for an England number 11.Quote:

I don't fancy chasing more than 140 tbh , this is not over yet
But again, would still much rather have him for the OvalQuote:

Starc hits 6 to bring up his 50. The lead is over 100 and they are scoring quickly. We're coming back after lunch for certain now.
Phew again. Hazelwood gone.
Just had a fiver on Australia to win it at 7/1. Ladbrokes were offering 22/1 first thing this morning according to odds checker but couldn't get the counter clerk to take the bet..
7/1. A Tory majority at the election was 10/1.
The Aussie tail has done a fantastic job.
It's going to be a nervy little chaseQuote:

All out. 121 to get. I think we'll do it at a cost of 2 wickets: Lyth and Bell.
11/1. Cook out.
Surely not...
4's are amazing when you chase a total like this http://www.ccmb.co.uk/images/smiley_icons/ayatollah.gif
Has bell got a bet with someone where he can only score 4s
Hahahaha. That's the "Thanks For Coming" award for Clarke.
Good work, captain.
He won't be back for The Oval. Side strain is a minimum six weeks out I think.Quote:

Can we hit 11 of this over to win on Johnson's bowling?
EDIT: No, we can't. Because he's not bowling.
