Awful turnout tonight down the Bay

Embarrassing turnout down the Senedd this evening for the welcome home for the Welsh Olympic and Paralympic heroes.

Where was the publicity? I didn't know this was on tonight.

Awful for those who have done do much for sport in a Wales to turn up with only a hundred or so people there to celebrate their efforts and success.

I would have gone if I'd known this event was on tonight.

Shame.

Didn't hear about it but wouldn't have gone anyway. Are we really going to describe Olympians and Paralympians as "heroes"?

I only heard about it whilst driving home from across the 7 Bridge, if i had known about it, would have tried to finish a little earlier and cycled (on the pavements) down to the bay. They deserved a big reception IMO.

They certainly did deserve better.

I knew one was planned but never knew it was tonight. Not seen it advertised on to, radio, news media or social media.

Terrible shame.

How was it you blew your beans day in, day out when Britons won medals at the able-bodied Olympics but had nowt to say when the disabled athletes were winning golds in record numbers, in spite of them now becoming heroes in your world?

The Welsh Assembly has members from those parties and one from the Lib Dems, but the government is Labour plus the one Lib Dem.
The event down the bay was mentioned on Radio Wales a week or two ago and this morning. If you were really interested in welcoming the atheletes surely you would have taken the trouble to find out if there was an event planned rather than wait for it to happen and then complain that no one told you.
