Yes, I remember him bearded with wild hair in the early 70s but before that he was an out and out winger, probably hence the Best likeness.

Do you remember the Football League Review used to have a vote for the best looking footballer every week? I always used to check it to see if there was a City player in the top ten (there wasn't except for Toshack scraping in very occasionally!) and George Best used to win every season, but I can remember Hockey coming second or third while he was at Birmingham and I also recall them bringing a lot of fans down to Ninian Park one year and they never stopped singing about him - he played on the wing then and seemed very good in that position. I would only have been about ten at the time of the game I'm thinking of mind. I agree that, by the time he started to play for Wales he was a right cloggers and I think I'm right in saying that he got sent off in Poland in an international.
