Playing as if the fans are there

I watched a charity zoom call with Graeme Souness last month and one of the questions he was asked is which team has impressed him this season and he said Leeds Utd and went on to give his reason as “ they play with an intensity as if the fans are still there with them in the stadium”.

I thought that was an interesting view and brought it to mind last night , especially in the last 10 minutes of the game, as the team’s energy levels were wilting but there was great collective determination not to concede.

There was an intensity in the performance that had been sadly very much missing from our performances earlier in the season - I would certainly say that Cardiff City performed last night, as they have done in all the recent games, as if the fans were there, cheering and willing them on.
