Nuno named as Spurs manager
Two big appointments in the EPL today, both with little names,
Nuno and Rafa.
Tottenham have appointed former Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo as their new manager on a two-year contract.
Nuno left Wolves in May after four impressive seasons, during which time he took the club from the Championship to a Europa League quarter-final.
Spurs sacked Jose Mourinho in April and replaced him with 29-year-old Ryan Mason until the end of last season.
"It's an enormous pleasure and honour [to be at Spurs]. I'm happy and looking forward to starting work," said Nuno.
"We don't have any days to lose and we must start working immediately as pre-season starts in a few days."

He'll be raiding Wolves won't he

If Kane moves on Jimenez is a cert to replace him.

think he's very much in with Mino Raiola, so expect a lot of his clients on the way

sorry not Raiola - I meant Jorge Mendes
Re: Nuno named as Spurs manager
Given time and funds then he will be exactly that club needs.
Re: Nuno named as Spurs manager
I think he's a good manager, but his Wolves team did seem to have stagnated last season.
Re: Nuno named as Spurs manager
Is he their 4th choice? A natural and positive progression from Mourinho which won't please Spurs fans but makes it more likely to be successful.
Kane and Son likely to leave soon and/or their performances to drop off the incredible highs of recent times so massive re-build in sight and therefore plenty of Jorge Mendes clients incoming.
Re: Nuno named as Spurs manager
He's got some decent players on his books to be fair.

Re: Nuno named as Spurs manager
I'll always believe that the professionals in the game are right 90 per cent of the time and us punters about 10 per cent of it, but sometimes you have to wonder. I don't think you needed to be particularly clever to realise that Mourinho would always be a bad fit for Spurs given his view of how the game should be played and that of most Spurs fans.
Therefore, replacing him with a manager whose previous team played a counter attacking game while not being particularly bothered by their opponents having more of the ball hardly seems a match made in heaven. Apparently, there has been an undertaking that Nuno's team will play in the "traditional" Spurs manner, but they would say that now wouldn't they.

It's a bit strange to tell their new manager that they want to lose regularly.
