Re: Cardiff City F.C. Songbook Released
The singing at the City Stadium is poor. I remember being in the Central bar in town, after we beat QPR to win the play offs, and the whole place signing City songs for hours, without repeating themselves. Someone would remember a chant, and away we'd all go. These days, you can count the number of chants on one hand. What happened?
Re: Cardiff City F.C. Songbook Released
We used to have a poster on here called Arfur Europe based on a City song which was starting to get going yesterday in the Canton but Aiden Flint's name being used and Swansea's net but it hasn't caught on yet - older fans need to teach younger fans the classics.
We used to sing "Bluebirds, bluebirds" after a good bit of play but no longer; we almost started singing "3 little birds" but that died a death and only the chorus was ever tried; we almost got Bacuna to Tequila going as well but that's stopped now too.
Basically, anything that doesn't go to the beat of the drum isn't going to catch-on because as soon as something happens the drummer kicks in to make it all about them. Or, if looking at it from the Family Stand, as soon as the right side of the Canton starts something (Men of Harlech) the left side of the Canton is louder with something more basic and boring (it's coming home) which then dominates.

They all copy one person who leads the chant or shouts the loudest.

The tequila/Bacuna chant has got to be the worst we've had for a long time.

The drummer is incredibly annoying
There's also a tendency to shoot down anything that's vaguely new or creative for tried and tested songs
