    The Bee Gees

    Much maligned mainly because of their cheesy approach to their music.

    I've watched a few documentaries over the years and the Bee Gees 60's stuff was pretty damn good, they just went and spoilt it with their disco bollox of the 70's (Jive Talking, Tragedy & Staying Alive).

    They are very underrated but it's just not cool to say you like them.

    Barry always comes across as a right tosser mind.

    Was Barry the one who fell out with Clive Anderson?

      The Bee Gees made disco popular again at a time when it was waining.

      Robert Stigwoods use of thier music in Saturday Night Fever was a masterstroke .

        A bit of cheese is fine once in a while. After the disco period they had the self awareness to take a break, write hits for other people, then came back a few years later with another number one. They got some stick (which seems to be diminishing - they were seen as a joke years ago) but they excelled at what they did.

            They're obviously very talented (or were) The only one left is Beardy. It's the sound that does me, and the emotivness of the music which seems to attract some proper plebs into liking their music. Same could be said of Elvis i suppose, apparently, some of his early stuff was incredible, yet the crappy stuff he did in the 70's seemed to attract plenty of people who sort of turned some of his music into a novelty act.

              Gave us the John Travolta wannabees in Tito's, being totally un-rhythmic, not guilty.

                Write other songs for major artists- very talented in all respects.
