Re: Whitchurch Chip Alley.
‘New’ Chip Alley, as far as I know there’s not an old one. Not in Cardiff anyway.
Re: Whitchurch Chip Alley.
Boarded up empty retail premises are, on the other hand, a great way to demonstrate to the world that yours is an upmarket, thriving community
Re: Whitchurch Chip Alley.
I wonder if Tonys 2 will open up there.?

I came here to say the very same.
If they are referring to Caroline Street, will that mean another shop will start selling special interest videos and magazines behind a curtain at the back of the shop?
Re: Whitchurch Chip Alley.
If those indignant residents had spent a bit more cash in their local shops, they wouldn't all have turned into take-aways....

I don’t know, if I hear any f*cker doing that ‘Dominooooooooooo’ off the adverts I’m liable to strangle them.
Re: Whitchurch Chip Alley.
Caroline street was always Chippy Lane when I was a young man.
Re: Whitchurch Chip Alley.
I’ve never seen an untidy Dominoes yet .. it should be an asset to the area even if they are expensive pizzas. I’m saving up for one !!

You'll be able to get a much better and cheaper pizza at the Italian restaurant just down the road.

Did you really refer to Caroline St as Chippy Lane or are you joking? first i ever heard of it was when Charlotte Church was down there pissing it up with various welsh rugby players. Referred to in the media.

We’ve been through this before many times, it’s Caroline Street as any self respecting Cardiffian knows.

I was referring to the nickname.
Of course it is Caroline Street but it is possible to use a nickname as well
And that nickname was Chippy Lane when I first heard it many years ago.
But I have no idea when it started.
