Stupid question
I know I'm not seeing something here, so this is a stupid question, nevertheless:
The BBC currently has Wales on top of Group D with four points and a goal difference of +1 with Croatia second with four points and a goal difference of +2.
Why isn't Croatia on top?
What am I missing?

Re: Stupid question
Some other sites had Croatia top because of the better goal difference.
But I saw an explanation for Wales top on the BBC: it was down to the head-to-head v Croatia and Wales were above them because of the away goal!
Not sure if that is right or not, but the BBC must have had some justification for the table order.

Re: Stupid question
I think it's head to head with teams level on points, so as we drew with them our away goal counts.
Similarly in Group A, Norway (1pt gd-3) are above Georgia (1pt gd 0) on account of Norway drawing 1-1 in Georgia, despite them losing 3-0 to Spain.

Re: Stupid question
Thank you for the above. There had to be a reason, right?
I take it the away-goal-counts-double rule is in play then, otherwise why would the BBC apply it?
