Andy Campbell day, 20th anniversary
I’ll say no more other than I’ve no idea how I got home (40 miles away) that night!

Re: Andy Campbell day, 20th anniversary
20 years ffs.
Was young then so remember being quite positive we would win.
Was sat behind that goal, what a moment.

Re: Andy Campbell day, 20th anniversary
I can remember going for a drink in Canton after the game and only being able to catch the last bus at Thompson's Park because the driver allowed what must have been about forty standing passengers - the bus must have been 90 per cent full of pissed up City fans.
I was stone cold sober watching the game (behind the goal at the end Campbell scored), but can't recall a great deal about it now - not a classic match, but who cares!

I was behind the goal, right in line with Campbell's lob. If memory serves, there was one youngster not too far from me who woke up when we scored, then somehow went arse over tit and flew down the seats to the bottom

Re: Andy Campbell day, 20th anniversary
I was there with my six year old boy, what 20 years he has had as a fan.

Right behind goal , perfect view of the lob
Leg went through the gap between the seats below me
Blood everywhere
God bless Andy Campbell

It was the first big game for my two older boys. Made it all the more special seeing their reaction to that goal and to the occasion. I agree, it was the start of an exciting 20 years for them; I have often reminded them it was not always like this and may not always be - this is Cardiff City.

"There's a not very private party going on in Cardiff tonight and the locals have invited themselves"
Must've seen that goal a hundred times and still gets the hairs on the back of the neck to stand on end.

I hadn't realised until just now that Howard Webb was the ref for both the final and the 1st leg against Bristol City, or that the 1st leg victory was our first league win against them in 32 years.

Wasn’t it Boland that provided the assist?

No, Gareth Whalley.
Boland's cross for Thorne was against the Wurzels in the semi first leg.

7th Wedding Anniversary, I was wondering how I was going to work it and then my wife bought my ticket, happy days

Re: Andy Campbell day, 20th anniversary
I smoked a cigarette with about 5 mins to go. I didn't smoke then and never have since. I had to do something to take my mind off what was happening in front of me

Re: Andy Campbell day, 20th anniversary
What a great day out that was, even Holloway applauded us at the end. Obvious fact but we’ll most probably be the only non London side to win a League play off final in their home city.

Re: Andy Campbell day, 20th anniversary
I had a seat on the upper tier immediately behind a middle-aged couple. At half-time, the wife got up, kissed her husband on the cheek and went shopping!

Sludge would have been telling about it for the last two decades if it had been Boland :hehe:

Re: Andy Campbell day, 20th anniversary
Although I was entitled to a ticket, I won another in a caption comeptition run by the club.

Re: Andy Campbell day, 20th anniversary
I had to listen to it on the internet. It wasn't even on in one of the "football bars". How times have changed.

Re: Andy Campbell day, 20th anniversary
Cardiff City TV will be putting up extended highlights soon.
