Do all succesful clubs with dominant high profile owners have directors of football ?
A lot of fans think we need a Director Of Football
They may be right
But are they in place at clubs similar to us , with owners like VT ?

Interesting question. According to this article from January only us and 5 other championship clubs didn't have a DoF or equivalent:
https://www.lep.co.uk/sport/football...th-end-4489691
Looking at the top 8 teams:
1 Leicester - Director of Football & Director of Football Operations
2 Ipswich - Director of Football Operations & Director of Performance
3 Leeds - Technical Director
4 Southampton – Had a Director of Football until he was poached by Man Utd last month
5 West Brom - Head of Football Operations
6 Norwich - Sporting Director
7 Hull City - Don't currently have one
8 Middlesbrough - Head of Football

That's why we haven't got a DOF now.

I get the impression he would if he could.

Did Ian Moody act as a Director of Football - if that was his job title? I cant really remember but wasn’t he mainly the keeper of ‘the dossier’? Apart from recruitment I don’t remember him doing the other stuff that a DoF normally does?
I don’t doubt the Moody/McKay episode turned Tan off the idea of another ‘DoF’ but I’m not convinced we have really tried it.

Moody was referred to as "Head of Recruitment" while at Cardiff. No indication if that meant players and/or coaches or if his brief included the football structure of the club.
