I didnt know the Monmouth bridge's were called these. Only realised when there was an article about road works.
Why called Gibraltar?
I believe it relates more to the tunnels through the large “cliff face”, which was likened to the rock of Gibraltar.
I thought it was about a porn star when i read the thread heading.
It’s the tunnels not the bridges. They pass through Gibraltar Hill (which has Gibraltar House on top)Quote:
