Airlines being grounded in USA, Sky News off the air, NHS GP system having issues as are many others.......
yet CCMB still going strong though!! :hehe:
Bloody Starmer.
Outage caused by Crowdstrike (?) forcing out an update that had a bad effect on Microsoft Windows.
I worked in Computer support for thirty years, implementing many s/w updates and upgrades.
I'd have been hung, drawn and quartered if I caused a tiny percentage of the problems reported today..
Don't these big tech companies have some form of change control??
Microsoft is notorious for forcing updates on users, to hell with the consequences.
No services I use are affected. Apart from my company laptop. That's a result.
Donald is not having of that that's if the dark forces don't take him out of course

Same here...30 years....Worked at the likes of Banks/Supermarkets/Insurance companies......There ALWAYS has to be a verifiable roll back option and contingency plan....many companies had 'mirror sites' that stayed on the 'old system' while a new one was rolled out. Problem is by the time I retired companies were bringing in fresh graduates with MBA's but with no experience of the real world.
Tims have move on since I retired in 2002...but Assembler was still the most reliable......supported systems written in CICS Macro level assembler in Boots and Lloyds Bank treasury systems. You have complete command of what is happening. Also used Cobol, which was widespread. Can't say I have kept up with more modern languages, and I think many of the 'old' systems have long since been replaced with third party 'packages' that often have to be hacked about (aka modified...) to attempt the correct functionality.
Bloody Trump, blaming Bidens camp for letting Joe play with the toys in the IT Section
