Gavin Ward referees again. He was in charge of the recent victory over Millwall. He let a lot of strong challenges go that evening and it led to a reasonably entertaining contest, even if the quality of the football was low.
I hope he does so again tomorrow - I can't stand overly-fussy refs. But there will no doubt be moans and groans on here and elsewhere if he does, because that's how it seems to be these days. Fans grizzling about referees is something that has definitely increased in recent years. It's become really boring in my opinion.

Managers particularly in the PL are worse than the fans.

Three changes are made from the side that faced Luton Town last time out, with Jesper Daland, Alex Robertson and Chris Willock coming into the starting XI.
Cardiff City: Alnwick (C), Ng, Goutas, Daland, O’Dowda, Robertson, Turnbull, R Colwill, Tanner, Willock, El Ghazi.
Substitutes: Horvath, Fish, Collins, Bagan, Rinomhota, Siopis, Ashford, Kanga, Méďté.

Decent side but worrying about the lack of striker. Makes it more surprising that Reindhorf played yesterday and not on the bench today.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v BLACKBURN ROVERS. Match thread
Sorry if it's been covered elsewhere, but is Chambers injured, he's not even on the bench?

Re: CARDIFF CITY v BLACKBURN ROVERS. Match thread
Robinson is a real miss, he transformed the game against Norwich by holding the ball up and getting us further up the pitch. It didn’t work first half when Willock played that role. I’m surprised Reindorf isn’t on the bench. Meite I get as he is physical, if not very good, but Kanga is just using up a space on the bench .
Will be interesting to see Goutas and Daland together, Chambers must be injured then?

if we had a striker that would be a decent side

Definitely! I think Daland has shown us better glimpses than what Chambers has shown but whether the partnership works is a whole separate issue.
God, I wish we had a striker.
Considering Tan likes players that shoot (from anywhere on the pitch), you would have thought he'd push a bit harder for better options at that position.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v BLACKBURN ROVERS. Match thread
Kanga’s agent must have something on Tan.
He has offered less than nothing in every one of his appearances.
Clearly he is not rated as he’s not even worth starting when Robinson is injured.
Get the lad Reindorf into the first team match day squad from now on, Riza.

Sean Morrison on Sky Sports saying he believes Colwill can make it in the top half of the Prem.
Let's see it today Rubin, show 'em lad :ayatollah:

Re: CARDIFF CITY v BLACKBURN ROVERS. Match thread
We're so reliant on Robinson up front.
Kanga's done nothing and is clearly considered a worse option than a winger up top - why he's even on the bench then is a mystery.
Meite clearly is nowhere near the player he was before his ACL injury.
Shame Davies is injured still.
Etete has played half a comeback match for the U21s but hasn't impressed much previously anyway - maybe he'd do better in a Riza team.
Ashford's not a number 9 type striker.
Reindorf should at least be on the bench - it was announced that he was moving up to the 1st team wasn't it, but he's just carried on playing for the U21s.
Just over 7 weeks until the transfer window opens!

Really promising start. Oh for a striker to get on the end of some of those teasing balls or make the one run to unlock the defense.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v BLACKBURN ROVERS. Match thread
Yikes.
First Blackburn goal in over 7 hours.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v BLACKBURN ROVERS. Match thread
Weimann always seems to score against us.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v BLACKBURN ROVERS. Match thread
Half-arsed defending from Daland led to that goal.

Brilliant goal but Perry has had a stinker so far, two needless free kicks given away and then he's made a real mess of his positioning there

Weimann has grown a lot since his days on Jackass..
