Strong rumours that he had been given the job permanently.
From where?
Plenty of people on Twitter talking like it’s a done deal, but where does it originate from? Assuming it’s true, how come Riza wasn’t good enough after fourteen points out of eighteen and is good enough after two out of fifteen?
Our megalomaniac owner decided yes as he's willing to work for minimum wage
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">So I did say few weeks back Tan was giving <a href="https://twitter.com/CardiffCityFC?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@CardiffCityFC</a> job to Riza for rest of season, with Bilic there as Jan back-up should it go wrong. I don't know why announcement has been delayed this long, I'm not sure it's the right call, but guess we hv to back Omer as it's happening</p>— Paul Abbandonato (@PaulAbbandonato) <a href="https://twitter.com/PaulAbbandonato/status/1864379067438387368?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">December 4, 2024</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
If he's appointed then it's the latest in a number of shockers.
The only way out of an inevitable fall down the leagues is someone somewhere being serious in buying Tan out.
Darren Purse being our next manager is a good bet after Riza gets relieved of duties before the winter is out.
We are a complete shambles of a club. Well done Tan and co.
That’ll teach people to go writing letters
Apart from Ipswich, for the past few seasons the sides promoted from league 1 have struggled in the Championship. This season is no different, and whilst we're poor there are at least 3 sides equally bad or worse, ie Portsmouth, Plymouth, Oxford. I think that after paying off Bulut Tan will be quite happy to stay in the Championship under Riza until the Sala case reaches a conclusion..
Hudson was appointed on poor run of results. Now Riza the same.
Guess they have reacted to the open letter from the supporters groups.
Would have rather he stayed interim.
Yeah hudson and riza both had a handful of ok early results. Both then dipped and both now been appointed on the back of the dips. It's beyond ridiculous.
I just couldn't believe the bookies were offering 10/1 on riza the day bulut was sacked. I could never see it being anyone else!
I stand by my claim even if riza turned out to be the next pep the club deserve no credit as it'll just be getting lucky. If they keep appointing people with no previous management experience at all then 1 of them maybe OK just the law of averages.
I think most people are past caring but I think it's a joke of an appointment.
His previous experience is Cheshunt 10 years ago. 7 games with Leyton orient 7 years ago (and he lost 5 of them) then next manager job is us.
I can't criticise him as he's been given the opportunity of a lifetime but the club really is a laughing stock and frankly we deserve to be relegated.
Let’s pretend the club’s board had parted company with Erol Bulut at the end of last season (as they should have done if they had any sense). Can you imagine the reaction if they’d subsequently unveiled Omer Riza as the new manager before the new season began?
Having been sacked by Watford, this guy was apparently brought in as a coach to improve City’s attack. The team scores one goal in the first six games and he gets a promotion to manager.
Only at Cardiff City…
Yes indeed. However if this is confirmed the even more bonkers thing is this action is on a run of pretty horrible results and performances! If they continue he will be sacked in the next couple of weeks anyway! Is it 2 points from 5 games? It's not like he has done so so well the club now have no option but to leave him in charge.
I look forward to the FAB applauding the club for responding to their letter by taking action.......
I really hope this isn't true.
The man has no dignity, the board is clueless on footballing matters and the results/style of play have been mediocre.
Russell Slade was a far more suitable appointment in hindsight.
Quite how they see fit to do this at this point is beyond me.
2 points from the last 15 available :hehe:
With credentials like that it’s easy to see how he will be the perfect candidate for the job
Brought in as a forward coach and making a big difference he was obviously the right choice to replace Bulut
I guess winning two points out of the last 15 on offer was enough to convince the board that they had got their man
I wonder if they’ll be a full house on Saturday as fans will be so excited that we have secured he’s services?
If a fans meeting is called I hope this time they really lay into them.
Leave the meeting leave them in no doubts that the fans have no confidence in them whatsoever and this is another joke of an appointment. They learn nothing from past mistakes and they are leading us back to the lower leagues.
No wasted questions on commercial opportunities just lay into them about yet another shocker of an appointment.
In fact with a squad in desperate relegation trouble , a window coming up which we badly need to save us from the drop and the 1st chance to start rebuilding a weak squad this is probably their worse appointment.
Jesus Christ.
It’s as if they’re begging me not to care anymore.
