Yes he looks quality, (Bethel) saw him in Cardiff for the T20 , would have been the youngest centurion for England since 1939.

Some quality young players. Brook is sensational. And carse looks ‘proper’. Just hope they can all replicate this form in Australia next winter.

All of a sudden, England look to have a penetrative seam bowling attack.im not convinced by Bashir though and I don’t see Woakes suddenly becoming effective in Australian conditions - if Archer could get fit enough for test cricket, I think they’d have a threesome who could match Starc, Cummings and Hazelwood on.
The batting looks very hit or miss though. Brook looks an exceptional talent, but Root has to break his century duck in Australia at least twice, Crawley and Pope have to improve (don’t think Pope’s a number three) and is Stokes the force he was?

Australia have their own batting issues. Smith out of sorts will be 36 by the Ashes and Marnus prior to this latest knock has looked shot to pieces.
Australia will still be strong favs.
I agree on Crawley and Pope. Pope really should be batting 5 or 6 not 3.

Agree on Woakes. Not for Australia. And also agree on bashir. Far from convinced. Stokes is getting annoyingly stubborn over him. But a front 3 of carse, Atkinson and wood or archer plus I’m still hopeful that a reformed Ollie Robinson can come back. Brook and root backbone of batting but clearly both must be at top of form. I’m a big big fan of duckett. Then 2 from others for top 5 and surely smith at 6. Agree with you on stokes, neither the batter or bowler he was. In 12 months will he playing as a specialist captain?!
