According to official figures 26,536 attended ... assuming all season-ticket holders turned up.
Anyone know whether Cardiff could have opened up the top tier today to possibly attract 30,000+ for a one-off game?
Obviously there would be extra costs involved ... extra stewards, hospitality staff and policing.
Never a problem in the premier league.
They could have opened up top tier red seats but the ticket demand was not there.. having said that what an amazing turn out considering live on TV and how poor we have been at home this season :thumbup:Quote:

Only personally speaking but there was Junior football on yesterday and my lad missed the game 'live' due to playing himself.
12:30 kick offs are a nuisance for him.

Comments suggesting that there were only a few hundred tickets left on Thursday probably put many people off applying for random seats dotted around parts of the ground. If the top tier was opened up then many more would have applied.
The club could have done a special offer ... 'kids for a quid' as long as they are accompanied or something similar.
It's a South Wales derby ... live TV, poor form at home etc have no real bearing.
Without the top tier the ground capacity is 28,018. So with segregation taking up about 1000 seats either side of the Swansea fans the ground was full.

Had the game kicked off at 3pm then there would have been no TV coverage and demand would have been much greater.
As you say a 5:30pm kick-off for TV would have attracted more but it is not as easy to police even though the 'bubble' trip for away fans.
Did you notice the person on the roundabout next to Asda in the Swan fancy dress. Either the mascot or someone supporting the swans who quickly changed before mingling in the Cardiff section.
The last five home games v Swansea have had crowds over 27000, with three of the last four being over 28000. This was the lowest since 2010.
The kick off time undoubtedly had an impact on the attendance. There were hundreds of junior / mini fixtures all over South Wales yesterday morning, not all will have been able to be moved to earlier kick off times. It’s absolutely crazy that you have kids having to decide between playing for their club or supporting their team. The occasional 12.30 game is fine, but this current situation where you have about 10 of them every week is absolutely ridiculous. If i didn’t know better I would say that Sky are doing it on purpose to try to strong arm the government into scrapping the embargo on televising 3pm games.
