Jonny owen on radio wales today about nottingham forest
Obviously he is a director there. Also watches merthyr a lot.
Up to him what he does or who he supports but is he or was he ever actually a city fan? I liked his cardiff city film for the 2008 cup final and he became a bit of a city fan legend so i assumed he was a genuine fan but maybe not?

Might be more due to his Mrs (Vicky McClure) being a lifelong Forest fan?

He's done very well in fairness to him. I always thought he was a decent enough presenter and everything but he seems to have built a good life for himself.
I can't see any issue with being a director at another football club and I think a lot of people support Merthyr and City. I remember around 2000-2005 you used to get a few people who supported Newport County and City.
Seems likely that CCFC means less to him that it used to mind. Life changes I guess!?

He was a City fan. I sat with him at the Chelsea v City FA Cup in 2010. (Mind you it was in the Sky TV Box so not sure he paid). He fell out of love with City following the red debacle in 2012.

And seemingly as a result fell in love with a red wearing Nottingham Forest :hehe:

He was filming himself on the pitch when we went up in red.
I like the bloke to be fair…but the forest thing annoys me.

Fairweather fan, Forrest are flying.

He obviously likes us and could be considered a fan but not a supporter, assuming a supporter is someone with more of a connection and dedication.

I’ve always thought if you attend games, either home or away, then you are classed as a supporter. If you follow them but don’t attend games, you are a fan.

Re: Jonny owen on radio wales today about nottingham forest
She's from Nottingham and didn't want to move to London for her career. He got involved in the club after moving there, I think doing some of the marketing and visual stuff then got asked to join the board. Think he's more of a fan by association rather than through anything else. If his Mrs was from somewhere else, he'd probably end up doing the same thing wherever that was.

I'm pretty sure he and his uncles took a bit of a stand against the club when they played in red and maybe hasn't been back since.

More clubs than Captain Caveman
