Re: CARDIFF CITY v LUTON TOWN. Match thread
City have lost four on the trot against this mob. Let’s hope it’s not five and it shouldn’t be as Luton are truly awful this season.
The last draw in this fixture was way back in January 2007.

Luton the next piivitol game
Lose that and we would be right back in the shit, you have to beat the temas around and below you the six pointers are all important!!!
Where we gave Burnley a good, close game and scored and hit the bar and the post, a woeful McGuiness's Luton got stuffed four nil, and they were lucky to get the nil. Sixteen shots to three and seventy-two percent possession.
It has to be a must win, with most of the teams around us expected to lose, bar Hull or Oxford who play each other on Tuesday. Win that nd we will be fine, lose it and we are back in trouble.

Massive game for us, but bigger for Luton really and a draw won't really do for them I don't think

Correction police, it was a typo.

We have a lot of mid table and bottom teams coming up and chances to pull away in the next two months, loads of points from teams that are playing for nothing.
So we need to start now and beat Luton to take the pressure off and allow the team to devlop, the probably at the moment is we still don't know our best back four and it's not setttled at all with changes every week, sort it out Riza!

This game is a real Rotherham away moment.

Agree that a win would be ideal and yes, you need to beat the teams around you, but a loss would be catastrophic.
It is a bit of a conundrum for Riza.
I wouldn't want to see us go all guns blazing from the off only to see us concede then have to chase the game.
Luton may have been awful in certain games this season but as we all know, you can get battered for 89 minutes of a game and win.
One thing is certain, it is going to be a nightmare to watch.

Derby will beat Coventry.
I know Coventry on a good run etc but has to end soon and with derby picking up and lampard going back to derby etc just feel derby will win this one.

Another absolutely massive match. I'm not sure even a draw is a particularly favourable result for us. We need wins and what better opportunity.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v LUTON TOWN. Match thread
Hopefully Rambo was rested for Tuesday, he could be the bit of class we need to beat Luton

Wasn't that the game of the message board half time challenge?

Maybe, not sure. I’ve tried to erase that from my memory…

Never had good memories of this mob, going back decades. Not sure I've ever seen us beat Luton.

Win it, we’re safe. Lose it, uh oh….

I can’t honestly say that slow and steady has been a winning formula for us, heaven help us if the opposition get the first goal!!

It doesn't help that we've got a very average group of players by this division's standards. Trying to find any formula is difficult. I think it says a lot that, as fans, we don't agree on what we think is best.

I'm seriously thinking of going for a long walk with ear phones on onistening to some music before checking the score at 10 o'clock.

Can’t you just go to the game? Or do you live away?

tbh that would be the worst way to avoid the match.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v LUTON TOWN. Match thread
Josh Bowler has been pretty much hopeless this season. 6 Championship starts and 4 sub appearances for Preston, just 5 sub appearances for Luton, no goals for either. Let's hope he doesn't finally turn up tomorrow night.

I know I was there the day Robin Friday tossed the v at Aleksic, but only 95% certain that was Luton.
On a separate note, Mc Guinness and Bowler mentioned. Is Doughty fit and playing ? I thought he was half decent when with us.

Yes
Their one tactic is get it to Doughty who first time will try to hit it straight into the box from anywhere on the pitch - the game will be a mess
Our slow and ponderous build up from the back is ideal for them
We are turning up for a fight tomorrow night with a bunch of lightweight Cil boys whilst they are a bunch of Glyncers
Bowler won't play - they have Isiah Jones as the other wing back who is far quicker than anything we have
I really do fear for us tomorrow night Gar
Our main hope is McGuiness plays awful yet again as Salech is a far better player than he is however they mainly use him to throw the ball as far as possible into the opposition box - I really hope he doesn't play Bagan at centre half!
Don't expect any football from this lot

Aleksic match was Cardiff 4 Luton 2 on 16 April 1977. Friday scored twice.
