Gareth Ainsworth who was once mentioned as a possible manger has suddenly left Shrewsbury and joined Gillingham in League 2. Shrewsbury apparently tried to keep him ofering him a longer deal "the reaction of most disappointed Town fans was a feeling of betrayal, by a man who had made no secret of his attempt to immerse himself into the local community and put down long-term roots in Shropshire....Ainsworth 'promised world and delivered nothing'. Shrewsbury are still bottom and 14 points from safety with nine matches to play.
