Re: Championship Agent Fees
Wish they'd sort it by amount but we're a bit above the midpoint I think - more credence to the fact that we aren't a budget team and really shouldn't be where we are given the amount of money we've spent. Shame most of it has been utter shite.
edit to add that by my count we're 9th... really shocking given the quality of the team on the pitch

Where is this data from? Is this actually publicly available?

I find all this one of the very most unsavoury aspects of modern football
Agents clearly have a role to play. I'm sure there's some admin involved in a players move and a key role in negotiating with clubs and getting the best deal for your client etc.
But Chelsea spent £60m in one season. £60 fkn million! On agents fees!
Surely there is scope for some tightening of rules here, so agents get a clearer set sum? Seems like the wild West, and you can imagine when it's s free transfer that an agent can get a huge fee as the clubs aren't paying a transfer fee.

Re: Championship Agent Fees
Think it’s probably a good thing we don’t see the amounts in an individual transaction. I dread to think how much the agent for Kanga got out of his little cameo - then he no doubt got another chunk for flogging him to Zagreb.
Nice work if you can get it. Almost incentivizing a player on loan to be shit so he can get sent back and another move in the same season.
Re: Championship Agent Fees
Tan and Dalman have been very vocal about their dislike of agents and agents’ fees around transfers and contract renewals.
They claimed to have made formal complaints to the football authorities, and to have demanded tighter regulation.
The main focus of the Sala case is the actions of rogue agents (who at the same time were working for Nantes).
It is strange then that for years Cardiff City FC has continued to pay such big fees (top half Championship) to agents.

Indeed. I remember reports after Mackay had been sacked claiming Tan and the club were declaring a war on agents. That went well.

Why are Leeds' fees so much higher than everyone else?

Their transactions during that period, ins/outs, totalled £194 million

Ah of course, some big sales too.
Re: Championship Agent Fees
Absolute parasites and also completely unnecessary. Kevin De Bruyne just used two lawyers and some analytics to negotiate his last deal https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/516...ics-transfers/
